How many times are the refs going to ignore Penguins without the puck being thrown to the ice????

They should've given Talbot a sweater tonight.

Rakell has likely missed the net tonight with every shot he attempted.
Not going to work when Letang decided to abandon the Point with the Empty Net and that side is where he missed it.

Letang totally sold out low leading to the easy empty netter. But whatever at this point.

Did anyone seriously expect any universe in which this team competed tonight against wpg? Honestly, I'm surprised it was only this bad. Literally an appropriate hockey outcome.

It’s been 25+ years since I’ve been so meh about our team. These guys look defeated 3 minutes into the game. Stale old terribly uninspired brand of hockey. Teams will less of a roster are shining. Yet the coach and our system and philosophy is apparently fine.

Players all look like they hate this team as much as we do.

So the Sullivan postgame narrative tonight is going to be "we gave up an early one and couldn't get it going" "the Jets took advantage off a couple mistakes"

No Mention of the fact that they barely competed until Your 37 Year Old Hall of Fame Captain had to get into a fight to try to wake this pathetic group up.
No Mention of the fact that Malkin decided he wasn't interested in playing tonight.
No Mention that Erik Karlsson is completely fine with cruising around as a non factor as an Offensive D-Man while being a Defensive Liability every night.
No Mention that this Team continues to play a System that breaks down Defensively and has little to no Offensive Pressure to make a Difference.

Why would Sullivan address this when its beyond evident that his Teams Lack of being Competitive has zero Effect on his Job Accountability?

Worst part is that when they do fire dip **** in 50 years, they'll just promote/keep some/all other part of the existing problem instead of doing what needs to be done and fire every single vestige of this staff, top to bottom.

FIRE SULLIVAN, QUINN, VELLUCCI, HENNES, CHIODO! Only keep the video coaches, they do a good job on challenges.

Hire Montgomery and let him bring in a staff. (Doubt he would unless it’s an offer he couldn’t refuse) If not him get Gallant and let him handle the next couple of years. Personally I’d love Therrien to come back just for the epic quotes that he’d give us after games like this.

Just finished the watch party.

I was impressed with Bunting playing snow plow pushing a couple Jets players into the board to join him in the scrum. Nice goal!

I was impressed with Pickering for immediately boxing out his assigned Jets players after the whistle blew in the offensive zone. He finished the shift rather than skating away.

I can't believe NHL professional players have forgotten how to play against NHL players. These guys look like they have zero clue what the system is. By the way, what is the system? Asking for a friend.

I can't believe that I thought the Pens could hang and wasted time watching them.

In addition, I can't believe that EK would be willing to torpedo his career in a Pens jersey. Overpaid Hack.

I can't believe that Beavis and Buttcode retain employment as HC and GM.

In addition, I can't believe that the only frustrated player who laced up their skates and would throw down is Sid. Bigger balls than the arsehole holding the title of redundancy behind the bench.

Tank! Tank! Tank! Season is over!✓™

I'll be honest, it was like 110AM here when WPG got its first shot on goal and I went to bed after.

Wrote a prediction 6-1 loss on a piece of paper and was mildly surprised that didn't come to pass. Low expectations

A lot of talk about physicality post game. I'm sorry Sully but you've been anti-physicality for just about all of your tenure here, now we are talking about being more physical?

He's grasping now.

Wrap it up!

IMHO, they haven't changed the game plan since the 2017 Cup. Every team in the league knows what they'll do 5-5 as well as the PP so it's easy to defend against the Pens.

I know Sully talks about making adjustments but the system is clearly wrong for the personnel. They simply cannot create sustained offensive zone time, and when they do they refuse to shoot most times. I don't mind a bad team at all if you're watching people develop for the future. This team looks clueless on the ice, and I still don't think they (on paper) are worse than last year but somehow they are. I want to see another coach (my post history must have that line in it 78 times) and another approach to see who, if anyone, can flourish under a different system. Yes, EK is horrible derfensively but he's essentially been eviscerated offensively by this system. He barely looks like a $3 million player let alone a $10 million one. I know Bunting has taken his lumps on here this season but I like him as a player. I'm starting to think, again, this system is bogging him down - at least earlier in the season.

This team: a whole lot of skating through the neutral zone, a dump in, a failure to retrieve the puck, an odd-man rush the other way. Over and over and over... I am flabbergasted that this management team does not jettison the coach first, and quickly. This entire organization seems to be in suspended animation just hoping it turns around when it's obvious to everyone who follows hockey that it won't. They need a serious jolt and they need it now (actually, they needed it years ago). If they are going to stink then stink with all the call-ups they can muster so we can see who can stick around and who won't and act accordingly. I watched loyally through the X Generation and all the horrible teams pre-Mario but this iteration could be the stalest I've ever seen. It's beyond frustrating as a fan.
