Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
At least the Steelers are on in Columbus while I’m here this weekend as they are blacked out AGAIN in Charlotte. Great opening drive, Wilson could had easily ran to the marker but throws it downfield and out of bounds with an open Williams.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I hate that uncovered penalty. How is Jefferson between 6” back help the Steelers? Why is that even a penalty? Just stupid.

I agree, both are true. Totally Jefferson’s fault.
Also, forgot Kazee was still on the team, haven’t heard his name all year.

If Wilson gets outplayed by Winston twice in one season he is not the guy.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
That was a horrible intentional grounding call. He had 2 receivers close enough. If they’re going to start calling throw away passes intentional grounded, they need to do it uniformly. I’ve never seen that called before.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
The Browns have better defensive coaching and the Steelers pretty much play preventive defense for an entire game. I think that’s why Winston looks better.DelPen wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 1:30 pmIf Wilson gets outplayed by Winston twice in one season he is not the guy.

Have to disagree with Romo, Pickens isn’t catching these balls Wilson is heaving out of bounds today. Pickens has a chance to make an insane play to get a catch, these guys are not even given a chance to make a great play.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Until they slow down the Browns pass rush, the WR lineup doesn’t matter. They might need a jet sweep to keep them off guard.DelPen wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 1:43 pmHave to disagree with Romo, Pickens isn’t catching these balls Wilson is heaving out of bounds today. Okay maybe not, but WR screen with blockers in front out to at least get positive yards.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Wait, why wasn’t that intentional grounding? It was way over the head of the receiver.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Another one. In the pocket, throws the ball out of bounds way over the head of the WR, no intentional grounding. The refs set the rules and now they aren’t consistent.
It sucks that that more often than not, the Steelers play the opponent AND the ref.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I thought throws like that were going to be fine when Winston had his foot really close to touching the end zone when he just threw it away with no one close very similar to what they hit Wilson with. Consistency is always the problem in sports with poor officiating. At least with baseball 99% of the time the ump calls the balls and strikes the same the whole game even if you think he doesn’t know what a strike zone is, it’s at least fair to both sides. NHL and NFL change throughout the game and last time I checked for NBA they are even worse and favor people outright.Daniel wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 2:05 pmAnother one. Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
So 16 seconds left and just need a 30 yard pass and run out of bounds for FG range and time to kick one. No reason to not try and put a ball that’s can only be caught while going out of bounds or needs DPI to defend it.
Does Tomlin gets bonus for unused TO’s at the end of the season.

Re: Official Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
It’s like Smith came to terms in August he was only going to have one WR all year and has no plays with 2 good ones at the same time. Williams could had been doing that more if they had the right plays to run.

Why do they continue to run when it’s obvious to everyone they’re going to run.

Can’t just run the clock out, need to do stupid things. That’s horrendous ball control.
