Frankly they should fire Sullivan and dubas at this point. Honestly any gm who doesn't see the need to fire Sullivan at this point demonstrates a lack of vision, decision making and decisiveness rendering them unsuitable to be gm. His still being here at this point is an equal indictment of the gm as it is of the coach.

Re: Poll: Will Sullivan be the Penguins coach at season's end
At this time, I just think we should stick with Sully for the reast of the season, lose every game 6-7 and Sid or Geno is involved in all our goals. Then we trade stuff at the deadline, hopefully for at least one more 1st rounder. Summer comes, we fire Sully, draft first and then hopefully another 1st rounder to. Then we can look at the team with excitment again wit a new coach and som young promising players!

I really don't know anymore. Can't be that Dubas is this married to keeping Sullivan. I'm thinking he's following company orders at this point. Or Sid said 'keep Sullivan or I'm gone'. Or Sullivan has some compromising photos of him.. or I really don't know anymore.Antonio wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:09 pmFrankly they should fire Sullivan and dubas at this point. We have ticked all the boxes needed to fire a coach. At this point, he could stab a player he doesn't like and not get fired. (Don't turn your back, Jesse) Okay that's just a joke, calm down.

They have a very small window before the angry fans become fans who no longer care at all. Angry fans can be swayed back to being happy fans, when they no longer care you need to do something big to win them back and keep them.FLPensFan wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:42 pmBetween what Dubas said on the GM show this week, and what Sullivan said in his piece with Yohe...seems quite obvious Penguins fans are going to be dealing with a lot of frustration this season and beyond. Dubas won't consider a full rebuild, Sullivan is confident in his job security. Meanwhile, attendance is dropping and fans are getting angry.

Are there any public records that would show if Sullivan has family ties to anyone in power at FSG? "My cousin, from Boston".

I stand by my NO vote. The team has tuned out Mike Sullivan or quit on the season. The level of hockey being played is not going to put butts in the seats, especially at the prices being asked.

Why fire him, just trade him if that's still allowed. He'll be a good coach again, just not here.

I think that's true as well - i did see this article from the spring, perhaps they are mistaken. coach trades are very rare, this may be a time where it makes sense.

While it doesn't specifically say "trade" of a coach, my understanding that any compensation for coaches is no longer allowed. It stopped in 2015.Steve wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 1:42 pmI think that's true as well - i did see this article from the spring, perhaps they are mistaken. coach trades are very rare, this may be a time where it makes sense.

Re: Poll: Will Sullivan be the Penguins coach at season's end
jmKD solidified Sully's future as coach via a simple swap of a fourth round pick for Tomasino. Recent player to the roster, plays under Sullivan's system, and has earned a sweater every game so far.
A young outsider with hockey skills, loves playing with the Penguins with Crosby and Malkin.
Props up the coach at the expense of tanking for a lower round draft pick.

As long as we are chasing playoffs he wont get fired.. 4 wins in a row glued him to the bench for another month for sure.

Re: Poll: Will Sullivan be the Penguins coach at season's end
You could honestly fire him for playing Nieto-Acciari-Hayes when you've had available Ponomarev, Puustinen, Puljujärvi and Glass successively.Pens4Life wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 4:45 amAs long as we are chasing playoffs he wont get fired.. 4 wins in a row glued him to the bench for another month for sure.

Congratulations to the 60% that guessed correctly. Yes, Sullivan did remain behind the bench until the season ended.

Hopefully Boston and Rangers try to woo him.

Something on the third shelf, in-between the pencil erasers and "we got this" stickers...

Sullivan and Rangers already making the rounds. It does make a ton of sense.

I read conflicting information about trading a coach (nothing from the NHL), but pretty much anything the Rangers offered would seal the deal.KG wrote: Sat Apr 19, 2025 2:41 pmhttps://nypost.com/2025/04/19/sports/ra ... ch-starts/

Next head coach? Look at that intense face.
