What was Danneault grabbing his mouth for? I rewound it to when him and Rakell were in the corner and Rakells stick was up after the pass to EK but wasn’t anywhere close to hitting his face.

I have never detested anyone in the hockey universe as much as I detest Sullivan. Not Eric lindros, not kasparitus (when he wasn't a pen), not Tom Wilson... nobody.
Wait, you actually detest him? Really? Detest a man that simply coaches hockey. Ahh ok…

Have to give the Pens credit for the determination and intensity especially in the 3rd Period and OT.
Sid had a great game despite not getting a Goal.He was grinding, that pass to get Gryz the tying goal was special.
Bunting and Lizotte were strong all night,so many loose pucks grabbed by them.
EK put a great shot to get Rakell that deflection but that late game idiocy from him was just inexcusable.
Ned made a few big stops when they needed it.He kept the rebounds away from the Kings.

Considering the strength and quality of that Kings Team and how they have been on a roll it was an impressive Victory. The Physical,Grinding Defensive Style they employ makes this Effort one that felt good, even more so with a late comeback and big OT GWG.

Fair enough. I'm not going to lie. I hate Tom Wilson. Seems like he's a terrible human being even outside of hockey. 😁

When did we stop hating Tom Fitzgerald? I can see not hating him during the Penguin years, then right back to hating him when he left.

Not that it really matters but I’m still trying to figure out how Lizotte with his 7 goals in 16 games gets demoted to 4C in favor of Glass with his 1 goal in 20 games?

Also Tomasino has quickly slowed down after his fast start. Sully got to him as well. Play away from the puck garbage.
Agree on both.Lizotte has been a positive with energy and productivity.Should be Centering that Checking Line.

Tomasino was creating and using his vision to generate chances and getting on the scoresheet .The Top 2-3 Coach figured how he was getting that done wasnt helping the Team.Puustinen got the same treatment from this guy.
On the Kings pregame show, Lizzote was called out for being the 'mosquito in a dark tent' type of annoying player to the other team. He also cooked dinner at his place for former Kings teammates. He knows what to do on the fourth line. Earned his keep tonight.

In another play, Edmunson kept Bunting from falling backwards on his head after crashing the net. Honest move after the whistle.

I seem to enjoy the opposite team's announcers more than I used to.

Malkin was credited with the Penguins opening goal per NHL.com last night, but IMO he did not touch the puck behind Kuemper? What am I missing?

I thought the same. It looked to me like Bunting's shot hit the post, banked into Kuemper's pad then in the net. IMHO, it should have been Bunting's goal.

Not sure how it works, but I would think league officials checks in with teams after games to confirm goalscorers in cases where there's any doubt, right? Did Malkin steal a goal from Bunting? :scared:

If so why wouldn’t Malkin be man enough to tell the officials?

I'm sure he would be. I just thought that the league checks, but after the fact that Malkin is officially listed as the scorer, I'm not sure about it anymore.

It was changed during the game. The overhead replay seemed to show he slightly tipped it after it hit the post and before Kuemper knocked it over the line. Don't shoot the messenger... :D

I was thinking the same things, but honestly, to me, the slow-mo overhead reply shows a very slight change of direction as the puck goes under Malkin's stick. I still think it should have been Bunting's goal though. Malkin did nothing to change the outcome of the play.

Interesting. I just watched the highlights and I could not see a Malkin tip at all.

I could see that. And I'm sure the league is very accurate in these cases.

And NHL Rule 78.4 Scoring a Goal says:

A goal shall be scored if the puck is put into the goal in any other manner (i.e. not shot in) by a player of the defending side. The player of the attacking side who last touched the puck shall be credited with the goal and assists may be awarded.

The bar is very low. Just has to touch it to get awarded the goal.
