Always fun beating up on the Cryers. Good, solid W. Good way to head into Christmas break.

I know I’m supposed to dislike Torts, but I can’t. I kinda dig that dude. He’s like a crazy uncle you’re embarrassed to really like.

3rd line was actually 4th line by TOI.. cant say undeserved heh..

What is Glass actually bringing to team as 2nd line RW? I guess only Sully knows.. Come on DOC snipe out of it.. jeez, what a dry spell for him

DOC only had 11 minutes last night. As I said his performance is not looking good for a new contract. Maybe sit him out for awhile.

Was going to say the same thing about how our 4th line is really our 3rd line if you look at time on ice. Acciari 16 minutes , Nieto 15 minutes. Pens took zero penalties last night so that’s all even strength minutes. Not a recipe for prolonged success when Nieto is getting 15 minutes TOI.

Sullivan utilizes his bench differently when we have the lead. When we have the lead offensive minded players like Tomasino get less time and “defensive” players like Nieto get more ice time.

I have always been a fan of him. On a personal level, the guy is a huge supporter of causes for the military, law enforcement and animals, all of which I support, and he isn't afraid to give the whipping stick to any player for poor performance. I like him and never understood the hate. Clearly he does something right since he has been around as long as he has. I recognize that he can be over the top sometimes in how he acts and treats his players for sure, but overall, I like the guy.

I'm a Tortorella hater.

What he does away from the ice, I don't know about, doesn't factor for me. I'm sure he's a pillar of the community, but that means nothing to me.

I think he has some definite skill at coaching and leading groups. Not sure you could argue against that with a straight face, I couldn't. I think it's cool that he's perfectly happy to kick anyone and everyone out of the lineup to make a point. Looking at his career, he's that guy that will make the trains run on time and get everyone following orders. His career path is pretty much: (1) start off with a mediocre team and miss the playoffs, (2) get a couple of playoff runs with the team, (3) miss the playoffs once, (4) get fired immediately.

Good or bad, it also means you build up a lot of resistance to your style of doing things in an organisation over a couple of years. If results don't match the goal, you get fired in a hurry.

He's also a complete muckspout and plonker without even a whiff of class. Shouty McShoutyface style of leadership. You want a dictator for a middle eastern country? I will recommend Tortorella as a solid choice, without a trace of irony or sarcasm. In a good part, he survives and thrives on the cult of reputation he's built. Behind the bench, he will theatrically whine about just about everything.

Seen this type before and have had to work with the like. Hate it with a passion. If he ever becomes a Penguins head coach, I will put my fandom on hiatus. Even if Sullivan very definitely has to go, but won't be shown the door because he really gels with the org.

This pretty much sums up for me, why you feel the way you do. Don't think any of the rest of it has anything to do with anything. This is why, full stop, I would say.

Personally for me, if I had to pick between country club and Middle East dictator for my hockey team, I would rather have Qaddafi.

Thank you for taking that out of context. It does nothing for your ability to coach a hockey team, which is the thing I care about in hockey coaches? That's what I would judge a hockey coach on, how (s)he behaves while engaged in coaching a hockey team. It's wild, I know.

I'm sure he's perfectly wonderful at supporting all kinds of wonderful things in society. I don't see how that is supposed to translate to anything related to coaching. I'll be happy to agree to disagree.

Using the same reasoning, you're only a Tortorella fan because he likes animals. I don't think anything else had anything to do with it. Alright, I can get on board with that. Dogs are cool and cats are great.

Gadaffi has been dead for 13 years, may not be your first pick. Still he might do better in his current state than Sullivan.

I don't mind his angry coaching style where he punishes all players including stars was more my point. My fondness for him outside of that is a bonus but sure. Qaddafi's corpse for coach!

I get where you're coming from, definitely could use a replacement for Sullivan that will call BS, regardless of what name's on the back of the jersey. Does Gaddafi's corpse have an agent?
