I feel like it drained any momentum we were picking up. Frustrating

Absolutely. Yesterday and today were totally meaningless.
Fire Sullivan, trade the losers (we all know who they are), and start playing the youngsters.

If you’re going to suck, at least make it count for something. Use the time to work on your game.

Crosby could have had 6 points tonight, unbelievable bad luck!

Yeah he was all over the Isles goalie, just wouldn't go.

Favourite Crosby moment was that check he threw at the blue line without a stick.

The end was ugly, but I thought they were pretty good through two periods. It's kind of incredible actually that they held the Isles to 2 goals with Pettersson, Pickering, and Letang all out. Graves and Joseph both played over 20 minutes!

Ugly? Man I don't know about that, maybe for about 6 or 7 minutes of the entire game. I thought they played exactly how they needed to play. Good win in my eyes.

It was ugly, against a less than mediocre team, unproven goaltender. I’m sorry but they should have blown away the NYI in both games.

Disagree. No one is going to remember a game in December they almost blew a 3-0 lead giving up two goals with the goalie pulled at the end of the year. All that matters is they got the 2 points and the Isles (a close division rival) got zero. 2 points they desperately needed to stay in playoff position. Credit the Isles for playing a great last 5 minutes and not throwing in the towel but they failed and it wasn’t enough. Hopefully this Pens team learned an important lesson as well for the rest of this year that no lead is safe and it doesn’t happen again.

Pens played a strong game and deserved the win.
Great game from Ned who should get the next start.
Keep the PP hot and keep piling up the W’s.

Not sure why you think the Isles are so mediocre. They have wins against Colorado, New Jersey, Ottawa (2), Vancouver, Carolina, Toronto, and Pittsburgh (2) already this year. That seems to me they have a decent shot at beating any team in the league any given night.

And the pens were down to only 3 starting D. Also, I'm not entirely sure they are less than mediocre. They are not excellent, but they certainly are competitive and demanding to play against.

Isles are a bubble team. Pens think they are a bubble team, so it's close. They're kinda meh, boring to watch and annoying to play. Takes effort to beat them. By effort I mean a mixture of vaguely competent D and G, with one of them rising above themselves. Ned was kinda okay most of the game, made key saves when we were under pressure at 5v5. Let two in 5v6 but I don't think a prime Brodeur or Roy has much of a chance against those. The D on paper was dog poop, in practice it was adequate.

Offense contributed, but probably should've had one, maybe two more? Sid was in his office all night trying to get one by.
