Is it me, or does Hayes do something good every game he plays? Why has he been scratched all season?

Nice work from Rakell down low to get the Puck to Hayes for this PP Goal.

Because he's slow, and Acciari is slow, and Nieto sucks. So naturally, Hayes is the only one that can be punished because....PK generational talents can't come out of the lineup.SteelCityFan wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 7:05 pmIs it me, or does Hayes do something good every game he plays? Ahhh, good point. I should’ve thought about through Sully’s view pointFLPensFan wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 7:13 pmBecause he's slow, and Acciari is slow, and Nieto sucks. Swallowing whistles impacts the game more than calling penalties when you see them. Refs again are a **** show.

Don't worry, Accari's ice time won't suffer.

Sully continues to give Acciari a lot of ice time late in games and it doesn't help this team. Now it likely cost them a Point or 2.

That play by Accari, will probably cause Puljujarvi to be scratched the next game.

3-4-3 in the last 10, lost 6 of the last 7. One more game at home, then a 7-game road trip.

Re: Official GDT: Pens vs Bolts 1/12/25
Disaster of a Game(and Weekend)for this Team.
Sully refusing to do any Line adjusting. Why not give Lizotte a shot over Glass at the 2C Spot?
The stubborn use of Acciari and Nieto as supposed Defensive Checking Line guys does zero for this Team. And lost this one.
Letang with another game with poor decisions and lackluster play.Core "Leadership" Guy that didn't do anything positive.
Hayes has quietly found a way to produce on the PP.
After the terrific Win over the Oil these last 2 losses have removed any positive momentum to be gained from that. The Top 2-3 Coach had his group Face Plant when it couldnt afford it.
This Organization needs to grasp the fact that the Younger Prospects have to get in the mix.
Nieto,Acciari and Beauvilier have zero future.Jarry is an Albatross both in net and Financially.
Time to see what Ponomorev,Kouivunen,McGroarty and Broz can give You.If they want them to continue to develop and leave them at WBS with a Good Coach in MacDonald then get one or two of Bemstrom,Puustinen and Poulin as bottom 6 guys to replace these older non productive Forwards.
With 3 Young Goalies as Prospects in Murashov,Blomqvist and Larssen they need to get Jarry moved ASAP.
But realistically I know we will hear about Geno and Bunting being out as the excuse from Sullivan as the reason for this weekend and no Roster or Lineup changes are going to take place.

All things considered, Jarry is probably already in buyout territory. Or just send him to the minors for more than a "conditioning" stint.Zalapski33 wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 8:08 pmWith 3 Young Goalies as Prospects in Murashov,Blomqvist and Larssen they need to get Jarry moved ASAP.

So much for this big weekend against playoff rivals.
Sell. sell. Sell!
KD will look to sell. MP, Rakell, Acciari, Beauvillier , DOC should be moved.

There is a benefit to having a **** goalie when you are trying to rebuildVictor wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 8:17 pmAll things considered, Jarry is probably already in buyout territory. I know our goalies look pretty bad but I think just about any goalie would look like crap playing behind this defense. Way way too many odd man rushes and breakaways given up. Tonight was a perfect example of that.

That's just the thing.. not everyone is on board with trying to rebuild.lemieuxReturns wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:01 pmThere is a benefit to having a **** goalie when you are trying to rebuildVictor wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 8:17 pmAll things considered, Jarry is probably already in buyout territory. Sullivan trots out his veterans consistently. No talk of maybe waiving one, sitting another, so as to get anyone from the AHL a couple of games. If the idea is to shop the vets, I don't think their trade value has increased. Waive our bottom 6 and you'd get a claim for Lizotte probably, maybe Beauvillier if a team has room at the inn.
Dubas has made some efforts towards the future, acquiring draft capital, picking up things from the second hand shop. That's nice. But he has repeatedly said he'd not tear it all down. Moreover, he lets Sullivan do the roster decisions indirectly. How else Nieto is not in Wilkes-Barre I will never know. Then the decision not to roll 3 goalies at the NHL level... Honestly bring in Larsson or Blomqvist. Ned has struggled this season and Jarry is Jarry, for whatever that is worth (not 5.3M forever)
I can only speculate what Sid's part is. I imagine he will have indicated during contract talks he wants to try and get back to the playoffs and have one last shot at it. If any player has a right to ask a GM they facilitate that while not breaking everything, it's him. By extension that gets you trying to ride two horses simultaneously as an org. Can't sell half the team and do right by Sid, that kinda thing. Even if it wasn't really stated by Crosby, this could be a consideration. Regardless, utter speculation this paragraph. Sid doesn't tend to throw his weight around and talks about these kinda thing next to never.

Were they? Didnt hear it.. also what were those waves of cheering and booooing and cheering and boooing, what was happening in the stands?IntangibleBeer wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 6:35 pmAgreed. Two surprises today:DelPen wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 6:33 pmIf Tomlin and Sullivan are still coaching in Pittsburgh this fall I’m not sure how much I’m going to care about either team much longer.
1) TOMLIN hasn’t been fired.
2) Fans aren’t chanting “Fire Sullivan”.

Re: Official GDT: Pens vs Bolts 1/12/25
What a rookie dumb move by Acciari..when the puck was dumped into Bolts zone,he should already turn around and go for line change, but he just keep circling until he was gassed and uncareful and that costs us a game.
