Does anyone know how to find out which team has given up the most goals in the 3rd period?
Hard to determine. There’s still plennnnty of time to give up more.
Actually not that hard. Go to NHL.com, Stats, Team stats. Where it says Summary, change the drop down to Goals by Period. It will show Goals For and Goals Against by period, per team.
To save you the time, probably didn't update yet from this game, but Penguins had given up 60 goals in the 3rd period....tied with Chicago for worst. Assuming they now lead by themselves. The Capitals lead the league, haven only given up 28 goals in the 3rd period....half of what the Penguins have done.
Now if only there was an easy way to find out who has given up the most odd man rush goals....
Enough blaming the roster. The “system” being used forever does not work any more consistently.
The Top 2-3 Coach continues to be unable to have his Team protect a 3rd Period Lead.
3 Straight Years where we see the same blueprint for failure.
THe Steelers and Penguins have top 3 coaches in their league. If you say a lie enough times it becomes believable. The Mediocre Mikes are stale like burnt toast with no butter.
He's looked pretty decent. Seems a lot more confident in himself. Not afraid to jump up in the play and usually gets back in correct defensive position fairly quickly. He still struggles with his ability to create anything offensively though.
On December 23rd, heading into the holiday break, the Penguins had gotten their goal differential down to -21. A month earlier, November 23rd, it was at -34.
Over these past 10 games, the Penguins have slipped back to almost worst in the league. They are either at -36 (highest point of the season) or -38 (if tonight's game hasn't been added to the stats yet). Both would be season worst, and -38 would put them at 3rd worst behind only Chicago (-39) and SJ (-41).
Everything should be for sale on the table. Playoff hopes are a farce.

Well it could be worse. I know, it is unusual for me to find a silver lining…….but we could still have Jeff Carter on the team to take the face offs when we only blow enough of a lead to require overtime.
