Pens gave Craig Patrick the late game to work tonight. Poor CP.

Did the King defender put that in? I saw all the replays and have no idea how that went in.

Yeah, it looked like Edmundson shot it off Hayes stick. We’ll takeCrash66 wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:03 pmDid the King defender put that in? I saw all the replays and have no idea how that went in.

Santa Ana winds kicked back up this morning and were gusting up to 45 mph where we live. Absolutely no desire to leave my house under fire watch conditions, so I donated my 2 seats.
From TV coverage of the Kings feed, Penguins wore LAFD hats for a show of solidarity. Crosby signed a jersey for an upcoming auction for the fire victims. It was a classy move and well recognized. Jim Fox and Nick Nickson thanked both teams.
From the get go, both teams started slow. The first two goals highlighted how slow the game was.
Any Eastern Conference team looking to bolster their goaltending against Western Conference teams, Ned is your guy.
The Kings were not good tonight. The Penguins are not a playoff team. It was good to see Geno play Geno hockey, and finally smile. Letang is still a turnover machine. Lizzote is the energized player a playoff team needs. I wouldn't trade him because his energy is infectious. Bunting is still a pesky player any playoff team could use.
In the third period, the Penguins all collapsed towards the net. Jarry is gone. Fifth goal was the result of no Jarry.
Fifth time in 30 years the Penguins have scored 5 or more goals against the Kings. (In my 30 years of attending Pens Vs Kings, I may have been to 2 of those games. Lemieux and Jagr days)
I have Tix for the Ducks, closer to home and after Santa Ana winds are predicted. I can't wait to make the game live.
(Non-pens related, members of my family have had friends that lost everything in the Eaton fire. We have a distant relative who is not in our immediate group that hasn't been located. I think she might have moved before the fires)

Sweet pass by Tomasino on the Geno goal. Sullivan was asked about Tomasino during yesterdays scrum. You can tell he still doesn't love his play away from the puck.
I'm not the top 2-3 coach in the league, but I don't see any major deficiencies in Phil's play away from the puck. I see a guy that hustles every shift and is skilled. Something we need more of in the lineup!

Thank you for the game summary! It was too late out east for me to watch this one, so I think a lot of us appreciate the nice recap.BigMcK wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:12 amSanta Ana winds kicked back up this morning and were gusting up to 45 mph where we live. I hope the fires calm down and get contained for you guys out there, and that you're safe. Proud of the Pens for doing something to help recognize the sacrifice of the firefighters too!

Yeah Sully is so adapt at identifying what makes a good player away from the puck - we have the worst defense in the league. Maybe his coaching away from the puck sucks ass
