Some of yinz seem overly confident that Sully isn't gonna be back next year. I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but I'd give it pretty good odds that he returns.
I'm hoping that the Rangers and Bruins come calling. I could see Sully jumping at either opportunity. Original 6 teams, big markets. Get's to coach McAvoy his son-in-law etc.
Dude is making over 5M a season and has been here for 9 years, in a league where most coaches don't last more than 3. Thinking he leaves voluntarily is even more wishful thinking.

He's already coached for the Rangers, and Boston. I don't see him necessarily going back to either place. It's not like he needs the money. I could see him in Chicago.

I don't believe it. That move makes sense.

Shame it's about a year late and 900K dollars short.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Bunting apparently had emergency appendectomy and is out for a bit.

Seth Rorabaugh tweeted that Bemstrom's equipment is in a stall. Guess he's getting recalled.

With all the gloom and doom of another listless season with no playoffs in sight, I'll play Mr. Brightside.
What are you most looking forward to over the course of 2025?

I'm looking forward to seeing what new players we'll acquire, either through the upcoming draft or through trades, and watching the current crop of youngsters begin to emerge from the AHL and hopefully battle for roster spots as they come available.

Besides hoping for career seasons from the likes of Rust, Graves, etc to flip for picks I assume?

Excited to see, hopefully, the young goalies all take a step forward, although with this defense, that's a big ask.

Excited to see Coach Sully start to put his imprint on some of the younger guys :pop:

New coach. Plain and simple. Nothing else matters much if we're going to see the same systems, same lineup decisions, same voice, same crap.

But, to stick to the objective of being optimistic, I'd say I'm most excited about the picks/prospect/youth coming in, the potential for an unknown young player to come out of nowhere and be great (think Guentzel), and opportunity to rebuild our club into a contender again.

I love the wheeling and dealing nature of trading and drafting players to build a roster. For the first time in a while, I'll actually watch the draft and probably spend some time doing my own research on some of the top prospects beforehand. Haven't had a reason to do that for a long time now. Definitely looking forward to the draft!

Its funny how our roster is full of players no teams want. What a smack in the face to Dubas and his job building this team.

Why would anyone sign Nieto?

They can sign me for half the salary and at 57 years old, I can still give them the same production as Nieto.

Is Defensemen, Vladislav Kolyachonok, picked up on waivers from Utah still on the roster? Is he really worse a player than Graves and Shea? Such a shame he doesn't get a sweater for at least one game.

He's still on the roster. To remove him, the Penguins would have to put him on waivers to send him to WBS.

The excuse Sullivan gave a few days ago was "they are still learning about his game, and he is still learning the system."

So, the stock answer from the border czar. Pathetic.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go back to not wasting my time for the team until the ass clown is fired.

Yeah, really what a clown  .. even if we put Kolyachonok on 2nd F line instead of Sully's boyfriend Glass he would probably score before Glass lol..

He cant be worse then Graves, Joseph and other stiffers.. just cant be!

Playing Imama for 4-5min a night "makes sense" too :face:
Move Glass to 4th line, he has no offensive game, IF he has to play, you know moron Sully - and give Tomasino 2nd line job, Bemstrom 3rd line at least.

What's their to learn about the defensive system? Make bad pinches in the offensive zone, don't clear the front of the net, and become proficient at fishing the puck out of our net?

Seems simple enough

Seriously. Sully says that every time we bring in a new player. He needs time to adjust to our systems. He says it so matter of factly, like he's a Scotty Bowman tactician or something. Sully has some ego. Just let the kid play! This would be a time I would to see KD instruct Sully to play him.

Every player has to have a baseline knowledge of the system. I know it's fun to put everything on the coach....

Exactly.

PO Joseph has 1 point in 23 games and is a minus 15. Does he know the system? He gets a jersey practically every game, is he executing the game plan at a high level?

POJ was not very good these last few games. It wouldn't surprise me to see Kolyachonok finally get into a game for POJ very soon.
