Saw this on PHN in their trade deadline article on Beauvillier. I think we will be hard pressed to get a 3rd so if resign him
Analysis: A third-rounder would be a yes. Anything less is not worth it. The Penguins would be better off to re-sign Beauvillier

I would be ok with re-signing him. He is not 27 and plays his role well. But I wouldn’t give him a raise.

I predict today will be a disappointing dud.

Grz for a 4th
AB for a 5th

That's it.

LOL! Love you Mike, but you've always been a bit of a Debbie Downer. I'm surprised nothing has happened yet, but we still have several hours left.

True, but here's my question. How do they make multiple moves today with a game tonight? They can't.

I'm going to hope they do anyway. Let's go Pens!

I'd bump each of those up 1 round based on the prices we are seeing. Soucy got a 3rd, Dumoulin got a 2nd and a prospect, Jake Walman got a 1st. Grzelcyk has a different skillset, but he should be comparable to Soucy.

Nico Sturm got a 4th, and Beauvillier is better. Nyquist got a 2nd, and Beauvillier is younger and has better numbers. A 4th shouldn't be out of the question for Beauvillier, and a 3rd isn't completely impossible.

If those 2 moves are made, we still have enough defense and offensive players to get through tonight's game.

If we move Rakell, it would depend on if we got a forward roster player as part of the return. Gotta move Rakell if there is a deal out there, and I find it hard to believe there isn't after seeing the Brock Nelson return.

So here's a question. If the Pens make enough deals that they can't field a full team tonight, can they just forfeit and make the point that the schedule needs to be open on deadline day?

Here's a question: Say they moved Rakell and Beauvillier today. Could they have "re-called" a forward on the down low and told him to fly to Vegas. Then, once the moves were announced, announce the recall of said forward?

Other option, and I would be fine with it - play a defender at forward for a game. Can't be any worse than what they've been getting lately.

NHL really shouldn't have games scheduled on trade deadline day to avoid these situations of roster constraints

Can they forfeit? No, they would have to play short handed.

As for the deadline day an open schedule, there is A LOT of clamoring for that to happen. Agent Allan Walsh posted it yesterday, and Yohe followed up saying just about every player he talked to on the Penguins thought it should be an off day.

Worst case, move it to a Monday because typically there are very few Monday games scheduled.

If say they would trade Rakell I feel pretty sure an NHL player is coming back as part of the deal. They could have a net loss of two players and be absolutely fine today.

They can trade 3 players off and dress a full team without requiring any kind of callup, or traded player to come in and play.

Right, so we could ice a team if net loss of players is three. Even better. :thumb:

Unless it's one of Jarry or Ned, I suppose? But you could play one and EBUG the other I imagine. Currently showing 13F, 9D and a pair of goalies.

There's one rumored Pens target off the board.

Depending on which team the trade is with they should have plenty of time. Honestly, I don't think that sorta thing would preclude Dubas from making a move or two. We have seven hours between the deadline and a game, I'm sure they have contingencies in place.

Take a break from KD complaining and go back to MS for a bit. Come back to KD if there's not trades in next 5 minutes.
