I agree we should move him. Just saying it’s not the same situation as Jake or MP. The pressure to do it now is not there. But yes, I want him moved for a huge package.Michael74 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 10:51 amAs he ages his value depreciates, he's on the wrong side of 30, he could get injured, have a down year and this buyers market that is unprecedented very likely won't be as fertile as it is currently. No, he needs to get moved. Keeping a guy like that on a last place team doesn't help anyone!lemieuxReturns wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 10:44 amWith RR we are in a good position. We do not have to trade him. He is signed for 3 more seasons at an amazing price. The price gets better every season as the cap increases. He is signed through his most productive years. Dubas knows this.

I think Jets circl back on Rakell after missing out on Nelson.
Hoping we see Rakell moved today along with at least one or two of Gryz, AB, Acciari

Wow. Looks like Carolina might have to deal Rantanan as a rental only. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. Still feel like it is holding up some other potential trades.

This is why RR at 5m for the next 3 years is an amazing opportunity for a team built to win now.

He's not happy with something similar to MacKinnon's contract. Maybe he wants something closer or even higher than Draisalt's extension?

Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
As someone said earlier, it looks like Carolina needs to just deal with the fact he isn’t re-signing. Keep him and try for the cup again like last season with Jake. Hopefully the brotherhood grows during the cup run and he decides he wants to stay. What else can you do?

A 2025 2nd Round pick for Beauvillier. Very nice.

Yes! Very nice. Not a bad return for a low cost UFA pick up

To the Caps, 2025 2nd. Very nice! Glad we filled that hole in our picks this draft.

Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
WAS has their second and BOS 2nd in '25. I haven't seen which is coming over...I'd assume WAS because it'll be the later pick of the two in the draft.SteelCityFan wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:19 amYes! Very nice. Did they say what year the second is? 2025?

Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
Good move and a serious return for AB. I guess if the player fits the niche of what's needed, they're fetching a lot in a seller's market.

I think we could see, if it happens, Rakell to someone like WPG or LAK.

Lou couldn't go all in to selling. Good for the Pens. Once less option out there!

Was listening to NHL network on Sirius in the car. Said Buffalo Ottawa trade has Cozens going the other way.
How about OTT then flips us Cozens for EK65.

Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
Is it just me or are we getting "real jerk" vibes from Rantanen? Nothing's good enough for him. He should just say, "I want to go to July 1st and not sign anywhere until then."
