Me too. You figure both Robertson and Harley are going to get substantial raises. Can Dubas put pressure on Dallas with a good offer sheet after the draft. This is the advantage of keeping all his 2026 picks and acquiring others. He could lose his own picks in an offer sheet and still have other picks to use from other teams.

I'm really disappointed in Rantanen. He said he didn't have enough time to determine whether or not to resign in Carolina. Then, he'll happily sign with Dallas without even playing a game there, or living there. Such B.S.

After the Jake debacle last year, this shows that Carolina is NOT a great destination for players. Speaks more to me about that than Rantanen or Guentzel wanting paid.

That's true, but as I keep saying, top 6 centers and #1 d-men are the toughest things to acquire. Johnston turns 22 in May, put 32 goals and 65 points last year, and 23 goals, 59 points so far this year. He'd instantly be a #2 center behind Crosby.

That would be a big piece to help accelerate a rebuild.

Depends on the age of the player. If done right, we can see a rebuild in less than the 5 year plan of the past. Players hitting the NHL quicker, free agency, parody make it easier to rebuild. If done right, the Penguins can get 1 or 2 top 5 pick into a rebuild with the right parts around them.

Wyatt Johnston and Michael Misa/Caleb Desnoyers/Anton Frondell to replace Sid/Geno and how much longer do they need to fill the squad?

They have a probable franchise goalie in Murasov, some nice defensemen and should have some depth. I'd say doing an offer sheet to Johnston might be a smart move.

Why getting a guy like Rakell with some term might be a smart move for them.
