Minimal we need to see Getz go. Rakell would be a bonus as it the right time and helps us tank more to the Top 5 for upcoming draft.

With Rantanen getting a 12M AAV deal in Dallas...this could put an offer sheet back on the table for a Dallas player.DeHaven162 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:00 pm100%. Benn, Robertson, Johnston, Bourque, and Harley all need new deals over next 2 years.

Vegas is up to something. They've been too quiet today.

I’d take Robertson in a heartbeat. As good a reason as any to horde draft picks. They could do an offer sheet and still have a pick in each round.FLPensFan wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:06 pmWith Rantanen getting a 12M AAV deal in Dallas...this could put an offer sheet back on the table for a Dallas player.DeHaven162 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:00 pm100%. Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
Me too. You figure both Robertson and Harley are going to get substantial raises. Can Dubas put pressure on Dallas with a good offer sheet after the draft. This is the advantage of keeping all his 2026 picks and acquiring others. He could lose his own picks in an offer sheet and still have other picks to use from other teams.Pruezy11881 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:10 pmI'd take Wyatt JonhstonFLPensFan wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:06 pmWith Rantanen getting a 12M AAV deal in Dallas...this could put an offer sheet back on the table for a Dallas player.DeHaven162 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:00 pm100%. Let’s Hope Dallas wins it all and is more inclined to not match and let someone like that go.

I think we are a little early in the rebuild to be looking at offer sheets. We need to build up a new core of young skilled NHL ready kids first. In my opinion.

After the Jake debacle last year, this shows that Carolina is NOT a great destination for players. Speaks more to me about that than Rantanen or Guentzel wanting paid.dark_forces wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 12:40 pmI'm really disappointed in Rantanen. Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
That's true, but as I keep saying, top 6 centers and #1 d-men are the toughest things to acquire. Johnston turns 22 in May, put 32 goals and 65 points last year, and 23 goals, 59 points so far this year. He'd instantly be a #2 center behind Crosby.lemieuxReturns wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:17 pmI think we are a little early in the rebuild to be looking at offer sheets. That would be a big piece to help accelerate a rebuild.

It does seem weird. All we heard was how great it was to play there with brindamour.pronovost19 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:21 pmAfter the Jake debacle last year, this shows that Carolina is NOT a great destination for players. Re: Official 2025 trade deadline
Depends on the age of the player. If done right, we can see a rebuild in less than the 5 year plan of the past. Players hitting the NHL quicker, free agency, parody make it easier to rebuild. If done right, the Penguins can get 1 or 2 top 5 pick into a rebuild with the right parts around them.lemieuxReturns wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:17 pmI think we are a little early in the rebuild to be looking at offer sheets. Wyatt Johnston and Michael Misa/Caleb Desnoyers/Anton Frondell to replace Sid/Geno and how much longer do they need to fill the squad?
They have a probable franchise goalie in Murasov, some nice defensemen and should have some depth. I'd say doing an offer sheet to Johnston might be a smart move.

Love that Dubas is shipping out all the Sullivan handcuffs.
