Official GDT: Pens @ Vegas 3/7/25

Post by DelPen »

This team isn’t any worse off than it was last game despite all the moves made which is saying something.

Geno 4th line center. Lizotte 5th line center. No 2nd line tonight.

Graves with Zero Defensive Resistance on this VGK Goal.Kolyachonok had his guy tied up but when there is that weak of an effort from the other D-Man that is going to happen.

The got a real problem with Graves going forward. Can’t continue to waste a spot with him.

Yep.What a Bust of a Contract for him.Offers this Team absolutely nothing.No awareness,not physical,terrible positionally,can't handle the puck.
Shea getting that Contract provides some hope that they move Graves this Offseason.

Ned was off balance from the minute he mishandled the Puck behind the net.Barbashev ripped that Shot for the Goal.
Letang did him no favors with a useless Defensive Play in front of him.Decides to back off and give Barbashev a ton of room to move in and fire it.

Vegas does a nice job collapsing and protecting the goalie. Good chance of a shut out.

Saad gets a perfectly placed shot high over Ned's Blocker.Graves deciding to chase into the Neutral Zone another terrible decision by him.

Followed up by a turnover then Koylachonok getting lost getting back in coverage and an easy one 54 seconds later.

VGK showed how strong they are. There was never a Point in this one where the Pens looked competitive.

Since the return from the Break this Group is 1-7.Free Falling. With all the emphasis on the Front Office Moves if they aren't able to accept that moving on from this Coach has to happen then they cannot even begin to attempt to have any success in rebuilding this Team.

After games like this it's a shame we didn't move Rakell. If we can get pummeled with him, we could get pummeled without him and in the process accrue, picks, younger players and/or prospects.

Don't count on it, BUF sucks and many teams around us in the standing can falter just as easily (unfortunately).

But, but, but, we have draft capital in 19 teade picks to move into the top three pick.

I've seen this movie too often to know the ending stinks.

Can't wait to see FSG put out a media post about how happy they are with this plate of scrambled eggs.

Nothing personal to Rackell, but I was hoping that he was traded today (yesterday) with a first round pick for our team.

Long walk in the park tomorrow.

To be honest Graves and also Kolyachonok had bad games, few errors and bad defensive coverages that lead to goals.
Aleo hard to digest all the lazy mistakes by EK and Kris all the time, thru every game.

Novak showed some glimpses of skill, just couldnt score.

Agree. You would think the only real NHL line of Sid, Rakell and Rust would have showed up at least in appreciation of Dubas keeping that band of brothers together. What is the point of keeping Rakell or Rust even.

Team didn't seem to care. And Vegas came to play. No chance that way.

Let's hope Rakell doesn't lose his trade value.

Pretty sure we would have gotten more than that but I 100% agree! It was a missed opportunity.

Rakell had a very minimal NTC (only 8 teams) and should have been moved. Rust currently has a NMC that goes away this summer. So, yes, we should have made more hay yesterday.

Riley Smith might be the first player I have ever heard say he wants to be recognized and didn't appreciate the general combination of anonominity and respect players find in Pittsburgh.

He didn't get to work with a top 2-3 coach.

That's my thought as well. Totally wasted those skating skills with inferior coaching.
