I don't see a cause yet. I'm going to be 60 this year, so this stuff is always sobering... Welp!

Molinari says it is believed that Shero was going through treatment for an aggressive form of cancer. What a shame.

There's a very nice photo of Ray Shero, Jim Rutherford and Craig Patrick together.

This is a shock. I always admired Shero. He was a professional and loyal to the people he hired.
Between Patrick and Rutherford, he's often overlooked, but a terrific GM nonetheless.

He still holds the best winning percentage among all GMs for the Penguins with .594, with the caveat that these percentages are higher since 2000 with the introduction of the loser point in OT. Rutherford has .569 and Patrick .526. Almost 2400 games as Pens GMs and 2 back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals each among these 3 legends.

Too bad for him he held on to Disco Dan for too long.

Sorry to hear of Ray Shero's passing. He certainly left his mark on Penguins History with his impact on all 3 Stanley Cup Teams of the "Crosby Era" Pens.

Drafting Jordan Staal, making a key acquisition in Gary Roberts, big time trades to get Marian Hossa,Pascal Dupuis,Bill Guerin and Chris Kunitz and adding important cogs in Petr Sykora,Hal Gill, Miroslav Satan,Mark Eaton were huge for that 2006-2009 Group with 2 Finals appearances and the unforgettable 2009 Stanley Cup.

Drafting Jake Guentzel,Brian Rust,Matt Murray and Ollie Maata,Scott Wilson and Tom Kunhackel along with getting Brian Dumoulin in a trade were all big time moves for the 2016-2017 Penguins Back to Back Cups.

Rest In Peace to Mr.Shero and Respect for Your Long Career and the success You were a Vital part of.
