What if Dubas didn’t bury good players in WBS instead of getting useless guys?

What if Sullivan actually put the best team out there every game instead of going with who was making the most money?

What if this team had a coach who knew what the **** he was doing for the last 4 years? Sullivan needs to go because until he does we will keep having the same problems.

From what I heard Dubas now thinks the team is on right path and Sullivan stays and little changes will be made :D

Sid and Rust had a terrific final game.Koivunen was strong,he was a whisker away from his 1st Goal.Bright future for him.
Tomasino was outstanding, nearly every shift had him getting good chances to score.Good to see him put that out there.
Ponomorev looked good again, the more he played the better it got.Puustinen played well and Poulin was decent.
Kolyachonok was engaged skating and effective Defensively. He should be given the chance in the mix with the D-Corps next year.
There was nothing to criticize with the level the Pens competed with tonight.Only negative was dropping in the Draft Slot.

Yeah, the Caps kinda mailed it in, but the Pens took it to them. Koivunen doesn't necessarily seem like a star in the making, but he looks like a solid top-6 winger...maybe a guy who can be a 20 goal/50-60 point player.

Tomasino needs to get more ice time next year if possible.
No UFA signings (other than Marner) and he will. :)
I don’t think he’s in the top 6 if Koivunen and McGroarty are there but him, Novak and a number of other younger players we have are a good basis for a third line.
I agree. I'm all for the youth movement. I really do not want Dubas adding any more random, useless UFAs for the bottom 6. We have plenty of young guns to fil out the roster. Let the kids play!

Let the kids play or get some solid, consistent talent. Tomasino, Novak, Heinen, Hayes, Acciari, Nieto, Lizotte....all those guys are simply old, inconsistent vets that Sully feels like he can trust because they've been in the league. Of those 7, I'd like to see Tomasino and Lizotte stay, and I guess Novak to get a longer look.

But having a roster glut of average and dime a dozen players blocking what little promising youth we have isn't the way to move this team forward.

Tomasino is 23 though. He SHOULD stay and see if he can't become a consistent top 6 winger. Same age as Ponomarev, a year younger than Poulin, two years younger than Puustinen for reference.

Lizotte and Novak are 27, which is the average for the league normally.. 27-28. I'm okay with them staying a while. It would make a lot of sense. Lizotte could be flipped at the end of the season, Novak might be a budget 2C/3C+ type.

Acciari, Hayes, Nieto do nothing for this team in the grand scheme. Old vets with nothing. Heinen isn't terrible, but at least as overpaid as Acciari and 29. Think we've seen enough. Salary dump player that we should look to get rid of.

Your 100% correct thoughts would be best served on any other team than this. Penguins, suck.

McGroarty - Crosby - Rust
Koivunen - Malkin - Rakell
Dewar - Novak - Tomasino
Lizotte - Hayes - Ponomarev

Should be close to top 12 to start next season, maybe 1 player difference..

Just can't bring myself to care until Sullivan is gone. I have no expectation of players being correctly managed and developed until he's gone.

No Koivunen with Crosby. He’s fast and has a “Crosby-like” hockey IQ.
