Calder & Stanley both would be nice... Way to go WBS, bending but not breaking there.

Grats to the Baby Pens.

I thought that we had plucked all of the talent out of WB/S?

The 2 away 3 at home 2 away system could be very good for the Baby Pens.

Is Chicago Detroit's affiliate, and did I see the answer on their roster?

Yes, Joel "The Answer" Kwiatkowski will be playing against the Pens.

He has NOT been spectacular since he was returned to WBS after his call up earlier.

I understand he's an offensive defenseman, but his play is at best defensively irresponsible, and at worst he may end up moved to a wing if he doesn't want to play defense.

With his (slight)size, he's very reluctant to play physical or get into the corners, shuns contact at every opportunity, and he's trying to lead the break on every face off in the defensive zone. I have a feeling if he keeps playing like that defensively, he'll get quite comfortable in WBS.

He's so eager to shoot that he misses the puck and can't keep it in on the (already anemic) power play since the playoffs started as well.

I hope he turns it around in the off season and into training camp, for his sake.

Whoa boy, sounds like my prediction that he'll take over as the whipping boy for Whitney might come true.

For what it's worth, I watched one WBS playoff game (Game 6 against Portland) and I didn't think Goligoski had a very good game.

I think he'll add some bulk over the summer, he'll start next season in WBS, work hard and get a call up, and then he'll go through the usual growing pains on the NHL level. He's not a quick fix and he'll be a work in progress like most young defensemen are.

and hopefully work on his refusal to play defense that has shown up at times this year. Several times he's skated lazy towards a puck in his own zone and pointed for the goalie to get it, while a foward from the opposing team is skating in behind him.

I've also seen him take dumb penalties when he's getting knocked around. A game misconduct for a vicious elbow vs Providence a few months back comes to mind. If he's getting outmuscled, he likes to cross check up high too.
