nice.

i think there's talk of a new swan lake coming out. it would be nice if they could iron out the kinks from the first one and make something epic.

I like the Dan Bejar part from that song. All three of them have such distinct voices, i'm not a big fan of destroyer so i think he's best doing just back up vocals for them.
widows walk is good, but i could care less about his other songs. venue called rubela is just terrible. the carey mercer stuff was a little off too. i'm not sure his style can me meshed with others. ultimately, it's krug FTW on that album. all fires is just an awesome song.

Widows walk is pretty cool, mercer just sounds too much like colin meloy.

Since my original thread got whacked for some reason...

Shaq's free-style rap about Kobe is pretty good but damn it it's catchy.

It's on youtube. I won't link it because then this would get deleted too. (I swear I get more threads whacked than anyone lol. )

Is it the rap that asks for Kobe's opinion on how "something" tastes?

Yeah, may not want to link to that one.

I saw him a few times this past year. I just wish he had more things floating around the internet.

I'm at my parents' place over the summer which means I've been taking long walks/runs. Been listening mainly to The Ark, Mustasch, QOTSA, Stone Sour, Coldplay's new album (they've done great yet again).

Today I'm switching to Johnny Cash and Tool though.

They killed at Bonnaroo this year. It's almost make it worth it to spend a wekend amidst thousands of dirty hippies.

You can download MMJ's entire 4 hour, 35 song set.... it's out there. Covers ranging from Sly & the Family Stone, to James Brown, to Crue, to Erykah Badu, to Velvet Underground, to Kool and the Gang. Stupendous. :

The new Whitesnake album is surprisingly very good. Their are probably 6 very good songs out of 11. Not bad at all, these days!

Mhm! Good stuff! They have a pretty wide-ranging palette, song likes Adelaide, songs that have more of a Christian Rock feel (believe it or not), songs that have a little screaming (only a little, not a fan of it myself in high doses), and good cover of a Like A Rolling Stone...

They have some live stuff on YouTube, Stephen Christian is awesome.

The new Girl Talk album is insane! It's so good!

And to the dude who just discovered Dropkick, I refuse to listen to those guys since they totally support the neo-nazi way of life. Funk dat. If you need Irish punk, listen to Flogging Molly, they're better anyway.

Word, that rap verse he plays over Jesse's girl is so tight. There isn't much rap that I get into, but this is just ideal for me because it just takes like the best rap parts and fits it over recognizable stuff. I just don't have a ton of patience for rap, this album just flows so well and keeps your attention.

The M.I.A over Metallica bit is why Girl Talk is a big deal.

My favorite part about Girl Talk is the way he makes you pause and think that what you're listening to is actually how the original song sounds. He does that so well.
