The Wheeling Nailers, the ‘AA’ affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have released their new home and away jerseys for the 2006-2007 season, and they are available to the public now.

Adult jerseys are available in medium, large, extra-large and double XL for a cost of $79. Youth jerseys are available in medium and extra-large for $70.

Be one of the first Nailers fans around to show off the new look jersey. They can be purchased at the Nailers’ new team store located within the newly redesigned Nailers office at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling or order online at http://www.wheelingnailers.com.

Cool idea to have everything "uniform" down the organization.

I am just happy they got rid of the big white patch from a few years ago. It didn't match the rest of the jersey.

I'm happy that excuse for gold is barely noticeable. :D

The Las Vegas gold is 10 times better than the orange-gold or the yellow that the Penguin have used in the past.

I can get past the disdain for Jagr, but now you've gone too far. The next thing you know, you'll say you liked the baby blue jerseys Pittsburgh had a long, long time ago. :P

No, the blue jerseys stunk. I actually do like the Cup years jersey... but it is nice that the Pens are actually Black and Gold now. Not Black and Orange nor Black and Yellow.

Maybe there's hope for you yet...

When you look at that color on anything besides the jerseys, whether it's a hat, jacket, t-shirt, or the logo at center ice, it most certainly NOT gold. It's brown, maybe even khaki. Yellow is way closer to gold than brown is. :P

I've always liked the Nailers' logo. That's one of the best logos in sports. With the red stripe, they look a lot more like the WBS Pens jerseys than the Pitt pens.

At least we haven't taken it as far as the Kings and have all our teams with the same logo!

It's kind of funny, I just listed my Nailers jersey on ebay 3 days ago. Not trying to plug my listing, just found the timing incredibly ironic.

Looks exactly like the old jersey to me. Let's score one for "creativity"...Nailers drop the ball again.

Come on, it's not that bad! I mean, have you seen some of the other ECHL jerseys.

I'm not far from Reading and I see the Nailers when they visit the Royals. Seeing Reading makes you wonder how much they get laughed at when they show up at other arenas wearing purple jerseys!! Why don't they just throw some pink on those jerseys so the Royals could really get sissy-slapped.

The vegas gold is dumb. It's pale, and washed out. It looks ok on the black jerseys, but not so good on the white. I agree with the other poster that it's also hard to reproduce for other merchandise/memorabilia. It often looks more tan or light brown/khaki.

The other two major pro teams in Pittsburgh use the traditional yellow-gold. I prefer that greatly over this current color scheme. I'm hoping that new ownership will make the change back to the Stanley Cup-era colors.

These new Nailers jerseys are ok. I really liked the style they used the past few years. I'm thinking these new ones will look much better once the numbers/names/sponsor patches are applied. At least they didn't exactly copy the WBS jerseys. Less of that stinkin' vegas gold, and more red.
Excellent first post! Maybe the best first post ever. :D

(Yeah, I am the "other poster" mentioned in the first part. What about it?!? )

I think the Nailers logo is 'okay', but I can't say that the other ECHL logos are awful either. Some are pretty creative in fact.

Anybody want a quick peek at the bunch of them, go here:- http://www.logoserver.com/ECHL.html

I'm a bit partial to the Wranglers  but I still don't think it's the best one. I kinda like the Lexington Man 'o War.
