Re: Current video game being played
I'm really annoyed because I love baseball, but I just can't enjoy any of the games out now. That always helped me get to know who was on what team too, so that was always nice. It would be nice to do that now, because I've really lost touch with what is going on in the AL the last couple years. I really only follow the NL Central and East now.

Re: Current video game being played
Lot of people play WoW...could never bring myself to spend money monthly on that...Diablo 2 is my RPG of choice, but I'm pumped for 3. Looks pretty good but I'm fairly sure that it has a few more years before it comes out and hopefully by then I'll be too old for that stuff. Though I dunno what age is too old for that. Have to see.

The new Xbox dashboard produced a red ring of death. Thanks, Microsoft!

After some research, this has happened to others as well. Not a large amount, but still... It's a bummer. And my warranty is up.Idoit40fans wrote:I was gonna download it, but opted not to. Re: Current video game being played
Do you have to download it to use live now, or can you go without it? Because if you have to, then i'm gonna call them and ask for either an extension on my warranty or my $50 back for live, because I renewed my live before hearing anything about this.nocera wrote:After some research, this has happened to others as well. I updated this evening without any trouble, aside from not knowing where anything is anymore.

Give it time. You'll turn on me eventually. I have foreseen it.

It seems like a rare occurrence so I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe. Maybe not. I don't like putting timetables on things. It's easier to avoid accountability without deadlines. Plus, you not knowing when it's coming makes the whole thing just a bit more enjoyable.

My system froze up twice on me since I updated this morning. I forgot to add that it did this on the dashboard while I was looking at my friends list. So I dunno.

I'm of the opinion that if they force an update on you like this, a new warranty should come along with it to some degree. It's not like it's a PC and you can just re-image your Xbox back to working order.

I actually read somewhere that the new xbox dashboard update would cause lots of RROD and MS knows it, but they didn't care all that much because most people would be out of warranty at that point.

The word on the Xbox forums is that MS is doing free repairs. I called last night when it happened, but the offices were closed. Have to try again today.skullman80 wrote:I actually read somewhere that the new xbox dashboard update would cause lots of RROD and MS knows it, but they didn't care all that much because most people would be out of warranty at that point.

Re: Current video game being played
Considering they extended warranty's by 2 years when the original round off RRoDs came, I wouldn't be surprised. People go out of their way to paint them as being out to screw all their xbox owners, but i'm pretty sure those are people who either never owned an xbox or never dealt with support. Every experience i've had with them has been great and they've done everything they could to help me out.skullman80 wrote:I actually read somewhere that the new xbox dashboard update would cause lots of RROD and MS knows it, but they didn't care all that much because most people would be out of warranty at that point.

WoW. I upgraded to the expansion but haven't really messed around with the new content much. My main is still only a level 69 anyway (haw haw) so I'll just play through the rest of the Outlands and wait for the hype to die down.

Re: Current video game being played
Finally got the midi cable to tune my GHWT drums... they are working *much* better now. I have to tweak them a bit more though because I am having trouble getting star power to activate now. Bonus is that the yellow cymbal is working right, and I don't have to hit the blue and green toms dead center to register a note.
Besides GH, I am somewhat intrigued by the new Sonic game. The previews look badass. My only concern is the Werehog thing they mixed in... I am seeing mixed reviews about that.

Microsoft is going to repair for free. Turns out they're NOT out to screw their customers.
