They're on the NHL09 soundtrack, I believe. Good tunes on the game, for the most part.

Thats the reason I started listening to them again. Cheep and Cheerful is an awesome song. I had actually only heard that album once before hearing that in the game then listened to it again and now i listen to it a lot. Alphabet Pony is probably my favorite song off the album, I think it was the first single off of it.

Eli is the best, mayne. He did it.
Simon Cowell thinks otherwise.

He even does songs with Diddy, Biggie, and Busta Rhymes.

New Music:

Little Joy - Its a side project/new band of the drummer from the Strokes. Very slow and melodic with a very retro feel to it. It's got that sort of sophisticated/intellectual type of songwriting, but the song are very simple and catchy.

Eagles of Death Metal - New stuff from the Josh Homme..very cool.

The Killers.....It's cheesy, but I totally dig it.

Some other new bands that i think are cool. Cause CO-Motion, Passion Pit, Army Navy, O'Death.

I've used those exact words to describe my feelings towards them. They take a ton of flac, mostly for the singer being a pretentious pretty boy. But i think their first album was great, and i liked almost every song on the second. I still like "read my mind" a lot.

The new one has some major synth-pop tracks, and some talking heads'ish stuff, but there are again some standout songs.

yes. totally. i don't even care that it has a pretentious, faux, old timey nostalgia lyric like, "The good old days, the honest man" in it. it's really really catchy.

Heard this song played at a few different arenas. I know Buffalo has played it, which I'm not sure if it's any way related to the Connolly/Kotalik joke posted on ytmnd.

Anyways, somebody made their own video using clips from the original Steve Winwood video. Not everybody will like it. In fact, most probably won't because of how repetitive it is, but I thought it was at least creative.

or if you want it mixed into the original song:

Spaceman might be my favorite song on the album.

Has anyone heard the new Beruit album yet? It wasn't supposed to come out until next month, but it looks like iTunes released it early. It was available yesterday.

March of the Zapotec and Realpeople Holland??? Those two ep's that just came out?

Realpeople Holland is kind of electronic....and i like that one a lot. It has the song on it that was on the believer magazine comp a couple years ago. The March is more of the same from beirut...it's good. there's more instrumental stuff on it...actually more instrumental stuff in general...there's probably 4 instrumental songs within the two albums.

btw....do you like the new andrew bird?

No, but I'm going to look into it now...Beirut = awesome.

I forgot to mention this in my top albums of 2008...

What a fantastic album.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see it because everything I saw listed the release date as 2/17. I guess a file sharing network leaked it so they figured, what the hell. I should have just bought it yesterday because it's not like I won't get it eventually.

I haven't heard the new Andrew Bird yet. I'm waaaaay behind in terms of new music.

It leaked on to my sharing site last week...i didn't even know he was coming out with a new album. I just have to go on there every couple of days and sift through the recently added stuff...it works for me.

The new M. Ward is real good. I agree with all of the publications that the new animal collective is great..i like where the band is going these days. I think the andrew bird is good...i think i'm overlooking a lot of it though...it's slower than his other stuff and probably takes more patience than i've given it thus far to really enjoy it.

I like M. Ward. What do you think about She & Him? I was skeptical at first but ended up surprised at how much I liked it.

I have never been able to get into Animal Collective. Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

She & Him is cool...great retro vibe throughout that whole CD...and "she" is really hot.

Animal Collective is starting to transform that odd sound of theirs into more concrete pop songs...it still drifts around aimlessly a little here and there...but there are points that are kind of jar dropping for me on the CD.
