I just watched the "Test Dream" episode. I really can't wait for the new season.

The sopranos is one of the best shows ever. I might have to order HBO so I can see this season.

I watch plenty of TV, and Soprano's is one of the best shows ever. Maybe you dont watch enough Sopranos.

Anyways, I am not the only one who thinks so. Go count all the awards the show and cast have won.

Uh, I think The Sopranos is probably *the* best show ever.

Kicksave, what would you put in your top 3?

I just got HBO this past year. Using my Comcast on demand, I have watched the first 53 or so episodes (up to the end of the 4th season, I think).

When you watch that much at one time, it starts to impact your brain. I have been hungry for old school Italian food all the time, and I am starting to use phrases like "breaking my balls" without thinking about it.

If HBO is ever looking for extras for that show, id suggest Harrisburg. Specifically the governor's mansion, and the state house. :)

The first 2 seasons of the Sopranos may have been the best 2 seasons of any show at any time... they were simply awesome.

Since then things haven't been quite the same, but it's still a pretty good show. Season 4 was the definite low point for me... although it had its moments, it just wasn't the same as the previous 3... maybe because they spent so much time focusing on family relations, I dunno... jsut fell flat for me in many cases.

Season 5 was a major upgrade from 4, although I have to say I was extremely let down by the season finale... things were building to such an explosive conclusion in the previous weeks... and then it just never really happened in the finale... although Johnny Sack getting taken by the cops was unexpected.

How long until the new season anyway?

It's funny you say that, because I thought season 1 was weaker than some of the later seasons. Content wise season 1 was the most interesting, but I don't think the show had yet hit its stride in terms of story development, etc. Each episode seemed to try to weave in subplots but never really generated a balanced narrative fabric. By season 2, though, each show really seemed to cohere as an individual unit and as part of the season-long story.

Of course, some of this may be a result of doing some necissary background work in the early going, but generally speaking, season 1 strikes me as the the most likely shows to introduce a character, develop him quickly and artificially, and kill him or otherwise take him out by the end of the episode. Later seasons, with more already developed strains and characters to work with, I guess, seem better paced.

I dunno. That's just my general impression.

I too love the Sopranos. I think Tony is going to buy it in the end, with this being the last season. Hey, Meadow is single again, as she was recently divorced. She is reason enough to watch.

Yeah, I can't see them ending the show with a happy ending for Tony. He is either going to get clipped or get send to prison.

If it's the former, the question is who does it? I have a feeling it would be someone Tony trusts--the show seems to use that sort of irony a lot. I could even see Chris M. doing it.

The best ending, imo, would be that after everything is settled, they cut to a clip of Tony having dinner with his family. No death, no prison. Everything continues.
