Bathgate, the AHL to Reading would never happen because Reading falls within an x-number miles radius of Hershey, where the Bears would have to approve a team within its geographic territory. Anybody who's been to a game in Hershey can discern that the Bears and their parent company are incredibly stingy and would never allow this

"Youngstown did not support their current junior team (NAHL) and they will have a hard time building rivalries, with all the other USHL teams being too far away."
Isn't this what caused the downfall of the Youngstown Steelhounds? Lack of attendance and the other teams were too far away. History is repeating itself.

Don't understand why they did not go all out for an ECHL team, even if Reading won't move. Several ECHL teams have folded. Why could they not snare one of those franchises?Keith wrote:"Youngstown did not support their current junior team (NAHL) and they will have a hard time building rivalries, with all the other USHL teams being too far away."

I àm @ wheeling park graduation as we speak @ wesbanco arena...the wheeling nailers' honda element vehicle is for sale. This isn't good for their chances of staying in town. Why else would they sell it?

Perhaps they get a new vehicle every season, though that's highly unlikely. Does seem kind of fishy. How's Wesbanco looking these days?jimjom wrote:I àm @ wheeling park graduation as we speak @ wesbanco arena...the wheeling nailers' honda element vehicle is for sale. It looked okay, they had their arena football setup going, with the turf down during the graduation.K2 wrote:Perhaps they get a new vehicle every season, though that's highly unlikely. I really have a soft spot for that arena, it's a great place to watch hockey and the food/beer prices are very reasonable.
Unfortunately they weren't selling beer during the graduation

I went to their website. They are selling season tickets for the 2009-2010 season, and signed their radio announcer for 09-10. So, it looks like they will be around for at least 1 more season.

I hope they stick around. I've gone to a few Chiefs games, and they are pretty fun.
I remember working as a bouncer at a bar in college up there, and the Chiefs would come in after their games and get loaded. I always said that if one of them started anything, I'd just walk out the door and quit.
