Hey, if any of you guys who watch and follow the Baby Pens can answer. (Eastonpensfan?)
Has Tom Gilbert been playing much? How does he look at this level? Do you think he will make it to the NHL? I know he's Edmonton's property, but having watched him the last few years here at UW, just wondered how he's doing.
Thanks in advance!
Tom Gilbert

Ron and I usually agree on these assessments and we do once again. The first weekend, he looked out of place.
The next weekend, he looked like he belonged at the AHL level... That is to say, he's not making a lot of mistakes, but he's clearly not to the level of a Noah Welch who will soon be in the NHL.
This weekend, he has been a healthy scratch in both games. WBS has 7 AHL-level D-men so there is a rotating scratch. The coach has been saying that he benches those who don't practice well or make a bunch of mistakes in the games before. Since he looked OK last week, it must mean that he didn't practice well.
I should be at the game tonight, but I'm stuck watching it on the internet feed because of an inline game I had that didn't end until 6.
