Xbox 360. Discovery worked on the game with some creators. The graphics aren't great... BUT.Admin wrote:Details, please.Jesse wrote:Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm
I am officially addicted to the game. My only problem with it is that I've run into is that it freezes a lot so you have to constantly save your progress. Yesterday I pulled a pot that had 500+ Opilio keepers and the game froze. I was so angry!
Basically, you run the ship, and you can customize your own boat. You pick your crew , some guys are from the actual show, some are random, and you set out fishing. You get a map from the Alaska game commission that shows where the crab were 2 months ago, but the crab migrate, so you have to guess where they are now. You set the course with the boat, map out where you will set pots, and then you direct the crew on what to do. The crew has 4 functions and they work without your help. They set pots, pull pots, chip ice, and rest. Each crew member has a specific task. There’s deck boss, bait boy, medic, cook and engineer. Guys are falling overboard all the time and getting hit in the head with pots and stuff. Yesterday I had to call the coast guard because the greenhorn slipped and smacked his head off of the hydraulic system.
It’s a really involved and tedious game. It’s boring for people that don’t like the show. I love it though. I love pulling pots. If there are empty pots, guys get angry and start swearing. If the pots are full, everyone starts cheering.
There is so much involved that it’s unreal. If you’re going too fast the guy with the hook will miss the buoy. Other boats are calling you for advice. You have to lie to them. Stuff is always breaking on the boat and you have to go to fast time while waiting for it to get fixed. You have to offload your Crab in a certain amount of time or you'll have some at the bottom of the tank die.

Just modded my Wii. *very* easy to do, all software no hardware required. I am playing Punch Out on it. That game gets hard fast haha.

Link to the Past is a brilliant game. But I just love games that revolutionize and stand the test of time. And no game does that like OoT. OoT's story is also far better than LttP.SolidSnake wrote:Ocarina of Time can't hold a candle to A link to the past

Also now add Assassin's Creed to play list. The beginning movie for this game is one of the best I ever seen in a game. Awesome stuff.

Also, has anyone heard anything about NHL10? Mainly, will there be a fantasy draft option for the franchise mode? I sure hope so. I love fantasy drafts. Also, I hope there is an option to re-sign people in the last year of the contract during the season.

What i have heard sounds bad. The "big feature" this year is an improved fighting system (yawn) and board play (meh). I thinking I'm skipping it this year.Letang Is The Truth wrote:Also, has anyone heard anything about NHL10? Mainly, will there be a fantasy draft option for the franchise mode? I sure hope so. Drat. They said they improved the fighting for 09 and I thought it was worse than 08. Damn. I heard they are also improving net front action.AlexPKeaton wrote:What i have heard sounds bad. I got the 10 day trial with season 10 of South Park. I'm not really that big of a MMORPG guy and it was very addicting. Luckily my trial ran out. Blizzard has to make BANK on that game.AlexPKeaton wrote:You just started WoW? Like seriously? My god man what are you thinking??????????????? If you want to get really adventurous, and if you saved up enough money, they have things called cars now. You don't need your horse and buggy anymore.

OoT is my second favorite game of all time. I think the story is the best, but I think some of the nostalgic factor kicks Link to the Past above it though.farnham16 wrote:Link to the Past is a brilliant game. I remember during the summer, I slept over my one friends house and we played Link to the Past for like 4 days straight.
OoT I got over Xmas while I was home from college. My buddy and I sat in his basement for 3 days playing it. The only time we left was to take a dump. We ate all the food in the basement fridge, drank all the beer down there, didn't shower, and peed in sewer drain on the floor. It was a good time.

Re: Current video game being played
I think part of the reason that ALLTP is not as dear to me as others is that I did not play it "back in the day", but rather much later on, so the nostalgic factor is not there; Other than game size, I can't say I enjoy it anymore than either of the Oracle games for GB. This was also true for Super Metroid, but I still liked it so much that it is right behind Metroid Prime as my favorite game.

Re: Current video game being played
Super Metroid is without a doubt one of the top games of all time. I remember buying a GBA just so I could play Fusion and Zero Mission, ultimately of similar caliber. Not to mention the 2D Castlevania games that are a complete and wonderful rip off.the wicked child wrote:I think part of the reason that ALLTP is not as dear to me as others is that I did not play it "back in the day", but rather much later on, so the nostalgic factor is not there; Other than game size, I can't say I enjoy it anymore than either of the Oracle games for GB. Actually, buying a GBA for Metriod is a lie. It was originally for Advance Wars. My God, do I love Advance Wars games. Yeah, I'm in my mid 20s and still play hand held games.

Haha great story. I've played through OoT every year for the past 6 or 7 years. There's always something new I didn't know from the last time I played it that's what makes it so great.newarenanow wrote:OoT is my second favorite game of all time. I play LttP a lot on my computer. It's a classic also. Gotta love the Dark World music.
