It's the bestest show on TV! But its not TV, its HBO. I discovered the show long before Mark Madden (who is also a fan) did so please spare me the insults. It's a show about the old west in Deadwood and basically they swear and kill each other over gold all day. Well written and well acted but waiting like a year for new episodes sucks.

I got turned on to this

by a friend with the fist season DVD. I got to say I was pretty skeptical at first, but it really is a good show. Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings plays the doctor and is from Huntington WV. Definitely a cool show.

That dude is an acting fool. He played a mad scientist in the 3rd Alien movie and a racist bastard in Mississpi Burning. Every character he plays is very well acted but Doc Cochran is a masterful character. Him, Swearengen, Bulluck, Dan, and Jane could just sit in a room and BS for 2 hours and I would tune in everyday.

I've heard about this show, it sounds brilliant.

It was on a channel over here and it got well received, I might check out some of the new series when it arrives.

I love Deadwood. The way the writers are able to blend drama with action, sex, violence, subtle humor, etc is amazing.

I agree the HBO tagline stupid, but I really don't watch any TV besides sports, movies, and HBO series (The Shield & Sleeper Cell excluded).

I started watching the Coach Knight show on ESPN. It could have been a great show if they focused on him yelling at kids for 48 minutes per show. Instead they devalue it by using the trash pop culture formula of focusing on the lives of some anonymous teenagers.

I really like Deadwood, but I thought the first season was much better than the second. Overall, I didn't much care for the plotline of Bullock's "wife and son" coming to the town, and how he handled the situation with Garrett.

Also, I think Season 2 dragged alot for me since Swearengen was incapacitated for a substantial amount of time.

The first two episodes of season 2 were a tough act to follow but the new characters and subplots worked just fine. I like both seasons equally but for different reasons.

Did you know that Mr. Wilcott and the guy (forgot his name) who killed Wild Bill in season 1 are played by the same actor?

Yes! I did notice that!

That guy is really an amazing actor.
