I enjoyed watchmen, but I enjoyed the book. I can't imagine anyone not familiar with the book enjoying the film.pittsoccer33 wrote:just got back from redbox with watchmen, ill rip it when i head to bed and return it on my way to work tomorrow

Re: Movie
I couldn't either, but several people I"ve talked to that hadn't read it enjoyed it. I don't think I would have had I not read it, but who knows.Froggy wrote:I enjoyed watchmen, but I enjoyed the book. You're crazy. Awesome movie. Wonderful acting, great sets, great view of vengeance/life-long battle between two individuals, great ending.Maagwa wrote:I hated the Prestige,

Ed Norton is definitely an amazing actor, but, I get more intrigued by Bale movies the past couple years.Letang Is The Truth wrote:the prestige is one of my fave movies it is so solid. i have never made it all the way through the illusionist but i love ed norton he is a terrific actor.

Earlier Norton is hard to argue with -- primal fear, american history x, the score, fight club, etc. I liked some of the new stuff. Illusionist was good, I like 25th hour.
But, Bale's body of work is so diverse. He's a lot like Daniel Day Lewis in how much he gets into his roles only he's able to do it more than once every five years. The Machinist, American Psycho, Harsh Times, and Laurel Canyon are all very underrated. Then the obvious ones like Prestige, 3:10 to Yuma, Rescue Dawn, Batmans.

Re: Movie
I didn't read the book before seeing it because I'm in the minority that usually likes the film better. I thought it was ok when I saw it but definitly dated a bit. I read through the book afterward and now watching the movie again it was a bit more interesting. I think both versions have a weak ending.Froggy wrote:I enjoyed watchmen, but I enjoyed the book. Re: Movie
I watched Coraline on wednesday. I can't believe that movie is rated PG, it's pretty creepy. If you like stop motion animation a-la nightmare before christmas, definately check this out. Looks absolutely amazing on blu-ray!
I liked the prestige a whole lot better than the illusionist, but enjoyed both.

I did the same thing, that movie is a long long long movie. Was strangely good however.
