Shadyside and sq hill are pretty stocked with cool places to eat....the area is just kind of filled with different ethnic varieities...i'd include like oakland and bloomfield with them too.
That's why I liked the place, you could get just about anything you wanted up there. I forget the name of it but the Thai restaurant on Walnut is surperb.

Moes is probably the best burrito for the price and yumminess.

Joey bag of donuts is the name of the burrito i get. Its freaking huge and comes with a big size of chips and unlmited salsa. for like $5.70. Bigger, Better, less expensive with chips than Qdoba anyways. They just opened Chipotle on Mcknight road. this any good?

On another note I like Hibachi Japan in Peters Township. I think the sushi id better than at Nakama. It just doesn't have the athmosphere that Nakama does.

Hokkaido Seafood Buffet
I went there a couple weeks ago. The sushi there isn't nearly as good or as varied as the Tokyo buffet on McKnight. They do have some interesting hot dishes, though. They had stir-fried frog's legs and some sort of crawfish dish when I was there, and they were also making little fried dumplings (filled with green onion and egg, IIRC) by hand. Most of the rest was what you would expect for a Chinese buffet (pepper steak, general tso's, [meat] and broccoli, etc.).

Nakama is one of the most overrated places in the city. OMFG steelers and penguins go there its gotta teh awesum!!

I prefer qdoba to chipotle beacuse their chips are better, they have queso, have more options, easier to order if your a n00b, their guac is cheaper, and as a result of the queso their three cheese nachos are terrific. the meat is better at chipotle but I sacrifice that for everything else at qdoba. qdoba > moes > chipotle

A couple of replies on different things brought up so far...

1) Morton's >>> Ruth's Chris. Hands down.

2) Moe's >>> Chipotle >>> Qdoba

3) All you can eat sushi is a trying process. At first it seems like a fantastic idea, but it's really not. First off, I think it takes the enjoyment out of the sushi. Second off, the human body can't handle that much sushi at once. I like to think I can eat a good amount of food, but all you can eat sushi threw me through a loop and definitely wasn't worth the money I spent.

4) Green Forest is amazing.

Willow on Camp Horne Road in the North Hills is an upscale place with very good food.
I second the Willow recommendation. The food is quite good.
Another vote for Willow here. Metzer & I were just there for our anniversary on Saturday...YOWZA, good food. Nice ambience and the waitstaff is excellent.

For the "laidback" category...I vote FatHead's.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand....now I'm hungry.

I always gave Chipotle the edge until I had a Queso Burrito at Qdoba. The Queso alone makes Qdoba better IMO, plus if it's good enough for Disco Dan, it's good enough for me.

You really can't go wrong with Chipotle either. I've never had Moe's but would like to give it a try

My fave hibachi place is Benihana in Greentree. If you're from South Park, I'd recommend that over Hibachi Japan. I dunno, I'm a big fan of the shrimp sauce at Benihana. It makes the meal, IMO. But, both places are better than Nakama...it's overpriced and not so good.

I miss the hibachi places in Columbia, SC, where I used to live. They're all better than the places in Pittsburgh...much cheaper and more food :D

Hibachi Japan in Peters is pretty good and I like it better than Benihana. It's slightly cheaper, less of a crowd, and I think they food's better. Now, if we were talking about when Benihana was the restaurant *before* Benihana (completely drawing a blank on the old name), well that place was the best.

I know it's overrated, but the athmosphere on a Friday night happy hour isn't bad. i do enjoy that. Don't care who goes there

I will definitely have to check out Qdoba.

If it's the one on Greentree road, it was called the Samurai
