Re: Movie
I posted what I thought in the Gran Torino thread. I laughed at a lot of the stuff Eastwood said, but otherwise, meh.Corvidae wrote:What did you think?Idoit40fans wrote:Just finished Gran Torino.

The only good part of Be Cool was Andre 3000.Idoit40fans wrote:Get Shorty is sweet, makes me sad that Be Cool was so horrible.eddysnake wrote:I watched Faerie Tale Theater's Beauty & the Beast last night. It has Susan Sarandon, Angelica Huston, and the always insane Klaus Kinski as the beast, who steals the show.
Also watched Get Shorty, I always forget how much I like this movie. Dennis Farina is hilarious throughout, really great comedy

Re: Movie
watched 'Double Indemnity' (1942), anyone who loves good film-noir should definately check this out, I may be a little biased because I got a thing for Barbara Stanwyck movies, but they certainly don't make em' like this anymore, one of the best movies I've ever seen!

Thats pretty much the sentiment we had with funny people...that who awkward san fran sequence gets unbearable.Letang Is The Truth wrote:I also enjoyed Defiance and Pan's Labryinth is very cool. Funny people was okay, it was way tooo long but very funny in some parts. and i love jason schwartzman
The rogan, hill, schwartzman banter is priceless. the should have just made the movie about them, and ended the adam sandler story halfway through or something.
i think watching all of those randy videos makes his part in the movie a real let down....in retrospect i wish i would have waited until after the movie to watch those internet clips....i guess they're going to make a movie just w/him...that will be a bit much, but if you haven't you should definitely check out his website and watch those shorts..

Re: Movie
i haven't seen funny people, but if it's like any other apetow movie it probably starts really strong...labors towards the end...the conclusion is pretty implausible...and then the movie turns out to be about 20 minutes too long.
not that i don't love his movies, but he's got some issues with his pacing

It borders 30-40 minutes too long/off topic....so i guess it falls right in line with your sentiments on apetow.shmenguin wrote:i haven't seen funny people, but if it's like any other apetow movie it probably starts really strong...labors towards the end...the conclusion is pretty implausible...and then the movie turns out to be about 20 minutes too long.

Re: Movie
I have been catching up on movies that I missed when I had no life during school. So far I have watched:
Juno - Good
Baby Mama - Bad
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - OK
Knocked Up - Good
Definitely, Maybe - Good
Gran Turino - Good
As for new summer movies, I have seen
Harry Potter - Pretty good
Transformers 2 - Meh, way too long
The Proposal - Pretty funny for a chick flick
Orphan - TERRIBLE
