yeah, the show was kind of a giant rube goldberg mechanism. precise plans that either worked out perfectly or led to other things that worked out perfectly. so i'm not going to rag on the finale for his laser pointer scheme or the gun going off exactly at the right place and time.
but the show was never so implausible that he could have an amiable sit down with his wife, who by all accounts should want to strangle him dead. and jesse getting away is bulls*** plain and simple. yes, he could have escaped the nazi's. but his life is over. period. the show never allowed that kind of fairy tale where he could run off to alaska and live in peace. not when he has no money, the cops are RIGHT there, he's on tape producing the world's supply of blue meth, and he would certainly have a scorching case of PTSD.

Spoiler:
There's no denouement for Jesse after he escapes the camp; what happens after his final scene has no meaning. As an arc, Jesse's character stopped with him happy and exuberant and free. The what-ifs of what would likely become of him don't matter a tiny bit to me. All I care about is whether or not it was a satisfying payoff for the character, and considering he was the closest thing to a moral compass on the show, my answer to that is yes.

interesting...i can't really think that way. the character lives on even though the story ends. and in that hypothetical epilogue, with the world that they've established, knowing what we know about jesse and the consequences that the show adheres to, he's f***ed. gilligan said, after the finale, that he likes to believe jesse got away and lived happily ever after, which i found to be pretty dubious.
I watched about 1 season of breaking bad and don't remember odenkirks character, but better call Saul has been pretty entertaining so far. The relationship between him and old man McGill was the most enthralling.

How come you didn't watch the whole BB series?
im not going to blame my wife but she likes to watch tv shows together (outside of the ones i will vehemently protest such as Hart of Dixie). She also gets angry if i watch episodes ahead of her. i usually take the guff or give up watching it because she doesnt ever want to watch serious shows unless shes in the mood. its the same reason why i only made it a season into sons of anarchy. i just give up the want to get back to it after so long. im thinking about rekindling the breaking bad idea, as soon as i catch up on gotham and house of cards.
My wife liked SOA so I got lucky there. She didn't care for Breaking Bad much till the end, but I just power watched it without her. I wasn't going to miss out on a show just because she didn't want to watch, that's why we have 3 TV's in the house haha.
I proceeded with breaking bad without waiting for my wife. My friend dimed me out by accident...it led to the grandest argument in the history of the shmenguins.

If that's the grandest argument you've had, then you guys are doing stuff right.

The subject matter that starts an argument does not make the argument. Our biggest fight started over whether or not we were having pees with dinner.

Haha. Mrs mac and myself fought yesterday over whether gone girl was acceptable to watch or not. It lasted a solid hour. Ended with her throwing a pillow at me and going to bed alone

Yeah...it turned into something a little bigger, but it was still mainly about watching tv shows early. We rarely get into arguments.
