Chappelle and Burress interest me, I wonder if thats enough to offset Martin.

Yeah, co-headlining with Flight of the Concords. Not a huge fan but they're not too bad.

The Oddball tour will play 13 dates this fall, and Chappelle is slated to co-headline the tour with comedy/musical act Flight of the Conchords. Two stages are scheduled to take place at the festival, and other performers currently listed are Al Madrigal, Brody Stevens, Chris D'Elia, Demetri Martin, Hannibal Buress, Jim Jefferies, John Mulaney, and Kristen Schaal.
Very interesting.

Indeed, unfortunately John Mulaney is only slated to be in New Jersey. So me being equidistant from there and Pittsburgh, I have to decide whether I want to see Mulaney or Burress more.

Thats tough, pretty much the same for me as far as equidistant. No interest in going to New Jersey.

Does anyone like Aubrey Plaza's comedy? I have had a crush on her since the beginning of Parks and Rec. I love her style.

The Conchords actually put on a fantastic live show. They were in the U.S. back in '02 or '03 and I got to hang out with them after a showcase with Fox (a friend of mine worked at New Line at the time and had befriended them while in NZ working on LOTR). Jemaine was seriously quiet and shy, but Brett was pretty outgoing. We took them to the Derby after their show.

Just bought tickets for John Oliver. After all the fees, it's almost $60 per person. I hope that at that price, he will turn the performance into a comedic nirvana.

Though compared to Sarah Silverman at more than $70, maybe he is a bargain...

I saw Dave Attell a few years ago at the Improv, great show and definitely not $60/$70.

I know. Attell was actually in town (Twin Cities) just ~1-2 months ago, performing in the local comedy club. I did not get to see him, but I don't think his show cost more than $30 (tickets for "regular" comedians in that club are $15).

Just purchased 4 tickets, front row, dead center, to see Kyle Kinane in Cleveland on October 12.

I need to see Kinane too. No one I want to see is coming to DC soon. Attell up in Bethlehem PA next month and Burr in Pittsburgh September, even though I just saw him in May.

Yeah, being in Harrisburg is terrible for comedy. Closest anyone comes is the Hershey theater, and outside of that it's 2 hours to the next worthwhile venue. We're just gonna drive to the burgh and stay the night, then finish the trek the next day. 5 hour drive, but he's my favorite.

Has anybody ever seen Arj Barker or Chris Hardwick live?

They seem to be the more interesting of all the headliners in the upcoming weeks here. I remember Hardwick from him aaawful MTV days, but maybe he wised up.

Oh, and 2 people I saw recently:

Carmen Lynch - pretty decent (B or B-)
Dan St. Germain - not so much (unless you like the "bearded drunk crazy guy" routine)

Don't know how it is in other places, but out here most clubs charge a two-drink minimum. So that's probably $15 per person on top of the ticket price.

Well, long live Midwest - ACME Comedy Club (THE club in Twin Cities) has no such requirement (not that I would sit there thirsty :) ). And during your birthday month, they'd give you and up to 5 friends tickets for free to one show.

Hardwick does nerd comedy for nerds. So if your a nerd you'll dig it. And his Nerdist channel is great.

Anthony Jeselnik is coming to Harrisburg. Not a HUGE fan, but he's pretty funny, and can't pass up a local show.

Just bought tickets to see Bill Burr again in DC in November. Still haven't decided on going in Pittsburgh next month yet. Also bought tickets to a live comedy bang bang show in October in DC. Not very excited about that one.
