Ugly lapse by the defense there.

This was traditionally a Pitt loss by some hilarious/depressing implosion, so nice to see they closed it out pretty cleanly in the second half. BC is nothing special obviously, but conf road win is a good start.

Yep any other year Pitt would have allowed BC to come back and win that game in the 2nd half. This year they did what they had to do and closed out the game.slappybrown wrote:This was traditionally a Pitt loss by some hilarious/depressing implosion, so nice to see they closed it out pretty cleanly in the second half. The problem is they are so thin now at CB. They have no replacement.Dickie Dunn wrote:Lafayette Pitts sucks.

No idea what has happened since his freshman season, but he looked lost out there tonight. Was consistently the guy in the secondary who was getting picked on and smoked.slappybrown wrote:The problem is they are so thin now at CB. They have no replacement.Dickie Dunn wrote:Lafayette Pitts sucks.
I thought Rori Blair had a hell of a game tonight. Not bad for a two star freshman DE former stroke victim from Upper St. Clair. Even being on the field is a great comeback story for him, but he really looks like a guy with a motor that never quits.

Thoughts on voytik? It seems like he has moxy, and he made the passes he needed to make, but there seems like there is going to be a learning curve and it wouldnt surprise this super panther fan to see quarterback play lose cost us a game this season.

I thought he looked decent (doesn't seem to be the consensus), but I agree... he definitely needs some polish. Its clear that Pitt will only turn to him if the running game is stalled. I do think when that happens / with a lot of guys in the box he can make actual throws and make a D pay occasionally. We won't have a Tino offense (passing game 100% screens because can't do anything else), but it'll be a downgrade from Savage this year. Overall, I'm looking forward to his career at Pitt.

Boom! Woke up at 3 to get to Wrigley. Went to the hotel to catch the second half and fell asleep up 30-14. Looked good after a shaky first quarter.columbia wrote:We've got your back today, ulf.

I don't know, I don't think he'll win us a game this year, but I don't see him losing one. I think he can play average enough and do some damage with his legs that the running game will do its job and win games.IanMoran wrote:I thought he looked decent (doesn't seem to be the consensus), but I agree... he definitely needs some polish. He had a rough start to the game, but maintained his composure and confidence and battled through. That was a big thing to see. Tino was a wilter, Voytik doesn't seem to be.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
I never really thought Tino was a wilter / choker. It was just he could never really throw, and his numbers would be so inflated by screens and gadget stuff to Street and other good wr's. Pitt ran an offense like the Steelers did when they had Dennis Dixon. Once he needed to actually make a real / normal throw, he couldn't.Dickie Dunn wrote:He had a rough start to the game, but maintained his composure and confidence and battled through. Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
80-90% of the teams in college football this year will be able to attribute at least one loss primarily to poor qb play. I don't view that inevitability as an indictment of Voytik. He's 3 starts into his career but I think he's going to have a good season and have a great career here. Like him so far.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:Thoughts on voytik?
