I really liked this week's episode, as a BB and Mike fan, but I wonder if this episode would have hit home with anyone watching Better Call Saul, who hasn't seen BB. It's kind of the first one that doesn't tie into the main plot for this season (other than bringing Mike and Jimmy a little closer together).

We have no idea how this is going to tie in to the main plot. For all we know its a major part.

I'd heard an old NPR interview about the town of Green Bank, WV - the home of the Byrd Radio Telescope - where all electromagnetic signals are banned. No cell towers, wifi, and so on.

I then found this article about people who suffer from electrosensitivity: http://www.washingtonian.com/articles/p ... out-wi-fi/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So I guess Chuck McGill's malady is a real thing. Interesting.

Never watched BB past the second season, however I watched to episodes of better call Saul and it's awesome so far. I didn't want to read the posts up to now due to spoilers, but are the remaining episodes on par with the 2nd ep?

What an awesome episode. Jonathan Banks is awesome. What an emotional ending scene.

Another good episode. Was interesting watching McGill struggle with doing the right thing vs the best thing for Jimmy.

Kind of sad that the Mike situation was basically diffused just like that, guess we'll have to wait to see how Mike comes back into the story.

This show is just so crisp (like BB was). The writing, acting, cinematography, music, etc. are all executed to near perfection.

Are you a Breaking Bad fan? I don't think it's necessary to have seen it first, but I really think the big hook is a lot of us want to see his progression into Saul in addition to how Mike became who he was and got involved with Fring. I think its a good show regardless but I can definitely see me not being too interested if it were just about some down on his luck lawyer James McGill that I've never heard of.
I know at the beginning of this thread I mentioned that I hadn't watched BB -- and I still haven't -- and I was told not to watch Saul. I didn't take their advise, and I'm glad. I absolutely love this show on it's own and don't really care that I'm missing some BB references. It's great as a stand-alone, and I just cant get enough of it!

My wife has only seen 2 episodes of BB and she loves BCS. Last night she commented that she had no idea Odenkirk could act like that. She still wont watch BB.

I loved the episode. I think BB fans are watching it through BB glasses and can't see that it stands alone excellently. I am hooked on this show while honestly never having watched even a single minute of BB -- though I will begin watching this summer, when the shows we watch end for the season.

If I were in your shoes Defence21 I may even wait until BCS is done before starting BB. That might make for a really interesting viewing experience.

For the optimal viewing experience...yes.

I didn't say it was feasible...

You know, the thought has crossed my mind and I even mentioned it to my wife. We're picking up Netflix this summer to fill our TV void during the "offseason," so if we can get entrenched in another show or two, we might succeed this summer -- the question is, can we wait until Saul is completely over? That's going to take will power, though the result could be truly awesome.

I mean, telling someone to not watch BB is pretty ridiculous but I think it would be kind of cool to have seen BCS first.

Last night when McGill was walking through the office he wanted to lease I realized that he broke bad before Walt broke bad.

Another great episode. I think we're seeing the seeds of the Mike - Saul relationship beginning to flower.

Yep only two episodes to go this season. Totally digging it so far. Wonder where we will be left at the end of the first season. It seems like Mike is gonna get back doing "other business" to help out his granddaughter or so it seemed from the end of the episode.

I also like that Saul and his Chuck are working together on that case, makes for an interesting dynamic.

This is definitely a very good show. Different animal than BB, of course.

My feelings on where this may go...
Spoiler:
I think that they will end up winning a bunch of money... but due to Chuck's ties to HHM, Jimmy will somehow get screwed out of most, if not all, of the money. They tried to treat that little tidbit as a throwaway, but I have a feeling it will come back big time.

I was thinking the same thing. We had an old partner at our firm try doing work on the side, albeit with our current clients, and he's being sued.

i have a feeling this show will be a giant kick in the nuts over and over. it's great theater, but man, i hope there are some wins for jimmy.

at least with BB, walt deserved all the nut kicks
