The Blue Jackets are reportedly efforting to place Quick with a “buyer”.

Funny how the Crosby Cap skews one’s view of what salaries are worth.KG wrote:He's their captain. Guess they felt the need to keep him. I don't disagree it's an overpay, but there's intangibles that go with it.Three Stars wrote:Dylan Larkin re-signed for 8 years, 8.7 million a year.
Is he an 8.7 mill player under the current financial circumstances?

I think for that money he should be a point per game player. He hasn't been, and whether it's the players they have surrounded him with or whatever, I think it's an overpay on the Wings part. As others have said he is their captain so they probably felt the need to keep him happy.Three Stars wrote:Dylan Larkin re-signed for 8 years, 8.7 million a year.

1C's don't hit the open market if you have one you overpay. I don't fault Detroit at all for that contractpens_CT wrote:I think for that money he should be a point per game player. I don't fault them either. My comment was based on his performance to date its a small overpay. Obviously based on his position as a 1C I doubt they will regret the deal.thehockeyguru wrote:1C's don't hit the open market if you have one you overpay. Exactly if they didn't sign him they don't have a replacement and will regress as a franchisepens_CT wrote:I don't fault them either. LeBrun just tweeted Carolina is acquiring a defenseman from Arizona...Gostisbehere.

Carolina’s perpetual reluctance to go and get the big fish is frustrating, and I’m not even a Canes fan.

Canucks get Filip Hronek and a 2023 4th from Detroit, sending the Islanders 2023 1st (from Horvat trade, conditional) and a 2023 2nd to Detroit. I'm guessing the condition is lottery protected.

The benefit to that trade is that I will have fewer opportunities to be confused when an announcer mentions that “Roenick” is playing.

Allvin and Rutherford are going to destroy Vancouver, if they haven't already, then sit in PF Chang's having lunch, scratching their heads.
Hronek is a good player, but you give up the chance at a top 15 overall pick (Islanders 1st) and a 2nd for him??? Hmmmmm....don't know about that. Also, someone pointed out Vancouver is ALREADY over the cap for next year with only 16 players on the roster.

They are all over the place for sure. The fact they signed Miller instead of their captain Boeser, and now they are trying to get out of the Miller contract tells you all you need.FLPensFan wrote:Allvin and Rutherford are going to destroy Vancouver, if they haven't already, then sit in PF Chang's having lunch, scratching their heads.
