Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
Oh, I totally get the # of recruits etc. I think Pitt got what they needed for the most part (some upgrades on D, back up QBs), and only have limited number of scholarships.
I just hope we can finally get some stability with this staff.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
I heard an interview with Narduzzi where he said stability was his primary concern when putting together the coaching staff. He compared his time with Dantonio where they only had a handful of staff changes, to his time working with a smaller school and how they had over 20 staff changes in a 4 or 5 year period. He wants a coaching staff that sticks together at Pitt for a long time. Hopefully that happens.newarenanow wrote:Oh, I totally get the # of recruits etc. I think Pitt got what they needed for the most part (some upgrades on D, back up QBs), and only have limited number of scholarships.

Institution, of course, has a variety of connotations.Onward State @OnwardState · 19m 19 minutes ago

Titus Howard kicked off the team. Not good for him, or for depth at that position. Sad to see talent wasted like this.

Saw a lot of the staff have been wearing this hoodie during spring practice. Would love to get my hands on one of these.

Pitt held its Pro Day today. Ray Vinopal looks to be the only performance of note, but it was a hell of a performance. His 35 inch vertical and his broad jump (don't know the exact figure) would have placed him 8th at the combine among safeties. He also led the way among Pitt players with 26 reps on bench press (would have led safeties at the combine) and finished the day with a 4.46 40 (tied for 3rd among safeties at the combine). Probably worked his way into a late round pick.

I saw it too but didn't want to be rude. That does not look healthy.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
Pitt got a commitment after today's practice. Tony Butler, 6'2 195 pound cornerback from Lakewood, Ohio. Preliminary rankings have him as a 3 or 4 star recruit. 24/7 has him as the 35th CB in the country. Other big time offers were ASU, Boston College, Cincy, Iowa, Kentucky, Purdue, Rutgers, and Syracuse. Was also being targeted by PSU's staff. Nice to get the first commit of the year taken care of.

Commitment #2. Brandon Ford, 6'6" 300 lbs., offensive lineman from Upper St. Clair. Listed as a two or three star recruit with offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Maryland, Ohio, and Toledo. Also received 107 recruiting letters from this weirdos in the middle of the state.

I'm assuming this is when they act like thu didn't want him and disregard the "we need you" from James in state college.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
Another commitment. 6'5", 210 lbs. QB Thomas MacVattie from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati. I've seen him listed a pro-style QB but the kid has a 4.51 40 time and doesn't seem to be afraid to use his legs. Listed as a 3-star recruit with offers from Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Ohio, and Toledo but much like Brandon Ford it seems like his recruiting was about to explode. Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Louisville. Big kid with a big arm and runs extremely well.
