This whole salute thing is about on par with Hannity bashing Obama for using dijon mustard on his hamburger instead of yellow like the peasants.

Muslim who tried to get poeple at his former work in OK beheaded one woamn and was trying to go for another before he was shot by a worker. ISIS related? Maybe, they did just ask Muslims everywhere to take up their cause. A french citizen was kidnapped in Algeria and murdered earlier this week after they made that statement.

There have been several instances, I think in Australia and Britain. It's pretty scary and if this is actually going to be the response from individual muslims, it's going to take a serious stance by the global muslim leadership against these terrorists among their brethren.DelPen wrote:Muslim who tried to get poeple at his former work in OK beheaded one woamn and was trying to go for another before he was shot by a worker. Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show the suspect has multiple, apparently religious tattoos, including one referencing Jesus and one in Arabic that means "peace be with you."

Re: ISIS Crisis
It could be from a piloted aircraft, just not the one doing the shooting. Its normal for a drone or follow attacker to be in an offset orbit during a strike, and the heat details are too obvious. Either a drone or an F-18 with a lightning pod would be my guess. Hornet pilots are superhuman with how they can fly and use the camera controls at the same time.tifosi77 wrote:Yeah, the image is too stable..... drone platform?Kaizer wrote:Its definitely IR video, and didnt come from the raptor

Re: ISIS Crisis
I think this is one overlooked aspect of Islamic extremism. There's always talk about terror groups, splinter cells, etc. But there are also a lot of individuals who may not be directly linked to these types of groups but still espouse the same values. In some ways, these people are more dangerous than the more notable groups, because it becomes far harder to predict or identify their intentions through surveillance.Troy Loney wrote:There have been several instances, I think in Australia and Britain. These things are just going to desensitize the country. The shock value riles everyone up at first but they're going to have to keep escalating their fear mongering to get the same reaction.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/10/13 ... ys-report/Disturbing new photos of ethnic Kurds killed by Islamic State fighters are stoking fears the terrorist army may be using chemical weapons seized from Saddam Hussein’s old arsenals, according to a Middle East watchdog.
if they are using chemical weapons now, do we put soldiers on the ground?

Wait, I thought we scoured the country looking for weapons of mass destruction and there wasn't any to be found.
They can't have Saddam's name on them.

Well we did give plenty of time and warning to move said weapons to, say, Syria...CBear3 wrote:Wait, I thought we scoured the country looking for weapons of mass destruction and there wasn't any to be found.

They are selling the women for sex slaves too and advertising it.
And didn't some politician say ISIS almost got close enough to attack the Bagdhad airport?
Thanks Obama.

I don't want ground troops to fight ISIS. I do, however, think it is necessary.

Re: ISIS Crisis
That's exactly how I am looking at it, and yes, I would be willing to go. Willing doesn't mean I am running to a recruitment center right now, but if a draft was in place and my number got called I would go.columbia wrote:To me, the question is always pretty easy to answer: would *I* be willing to go?eddysnake wrote:if they are using chemical weapons now, do we put soldiers on the ground?

So you would go if you were mandated by federal law to do so? Doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsementPensFanInDC wrote:but if a draft was in place and my number got called I would go.

I'm thankful there are probably thousands that do want to go, because I myself do not. I do however look forward to cheering those that do on.

Re: ISIS Crisis
Why not? I am willing to go. It doesn't mean I have to volunteer to do so. Like eddy said there are plenty who will volunteer so that people like I do not have to. If called upon to do the duty (heheheh duty) then I wouldn't hesitate.shafnutz05 wrote:So you would go if you were mandated by federal law to do so? There is a difference between willing to go and wanting to go. I don't want to, but I would.

Re: ISIS Crisis
The volunteer force seems really thin these days and the same people are doing tours over and over again. If you feel reassured by the size/willingness of the volunteer force...then that's some false reasoning.

I don't feel reassured by any of this mess. no matter what the numbers, I am thankful.
