San Juan, PR. Most major airlines go there, you don't need a passport, and Old San Juan may be one of the most beautiful places in the Western Hemisphere. I was there in April and had a great time.

When I went, I didn't go to strip clubs, I never liked those even when I was single...which I was at the time. I did a lot of drinking and checking out the french quarter though.

If you are on a tight budget and have never been west, get a park pass ($80 last time I got one, gets everybody with you in the park), load up the car, and do that. Sure, Europe, etc sound exotic, but you can get as great of an experience in the States.

Colorado Rockies, Olympic Peninsula, Crater Lake, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Yosemite, Moab, Yellowstone, Death Valley, Pacific Coast Highway, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Grand Canyon, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego.

You and I are absolutely on the same page King Sid. Of those places you mentioned I have been to 9 of them. Only a few more I'd like to add though. When you said Yellowstone you didn't mention Grand Teton National Park (spectacular in the fall, when the leaves change), which is about 40 miles south of Yellowstone are are affectionately known as "The American Alps", Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park on the AZ/UT border (I was in awe of this place), and Glacier National Park in NW Montana...the Going-to-the Sun Road has jaw-dropping vistas. And definately see the USofA and you keep your $ stateside first. Then you might want to try the Canadian Rockies (Banff, Jasper and the Icefields Parkway which connects those two towns and the National Parks of the same names. Finally, and this isn't cheap so you may have to save up for this one, a cruisetour of Alaska. And I consider all of these "bucket list" items.

Man I love talking about travel. I could make a post which itself would take up a whole page, but I'll spare y'all on that.

I hear you on the Tetons. I find the Jackson Hole area far more interesting than Yellowstone. If I had to rank all of the parks I've been too, Yellowstone would come in pretty low.

I could bounce around the Pacific Northwest for a month and not run out of things to do.

For my money, there is no better experience than Yosemite. The Sierra Nevadas are as good as it gets. Summiting Half Dome and taking in the views from there is probably the coolest thing I have ever done.

Unfortunately I've moved back east which doesn't provide anywhere near the same experience. I'm hoping to move to Los Angeles in the next year or two so I can get back to seeing the parks. The one I missed and really want to do was Glacier. I had hoped for a Pens early season Alberta swing to hit Jasper, Banff, and Glacier all in one, but it never worked out.

When we were on my bachelor party we drank all day in the casinos at Atlantic City. Then we went to the massive buffet at Showboat, and ended up sobering up. Afterward, went to one of the gentlemen's clubs and couldn't bear to drink anything cause we're so full on crab legs. It was a dumb move on our part.

LITT, my wife and I both have the Venture card, and we love it. The rewards are awesome, and no international change fee is pretty valuable for future traveling.

Pitt, you will be able to print both of your boarding passes, and just walk straight to the security line since you aren't checking bags.

revisiting this - what airlines can you use for this? looking at either the venture card or the starwood card finally

We did a Beatles theme for our recent trip to Chicago, it was fun, although I did throw in an Elvis cd around the 5 hr mark to split things up. If you have kids, invest in a DC to AC power inverter, saves on batteries.

The Clarion in Greentree is pretty basic but showing on hotels.com for $75.

I prefer Hampton or DoubleTree's and they are going for $129-$159 in the suburbs.

I stayed at quality Inn and suites a while back; nice place, 2 double beds, and a kitchen in the room.
