There should be public banning ceremonies and a banned list, stating the duration and reasons for the ban.

I logged on to Facebook the other day. Accepted a few friend requests, rejected one, logged off. Its actually kinda sad how many people i've met in the past year+ and i've had 3 of them add me on Facebook.

Also, I guess a year is an exaggeration. I think it was summer when I deleted the Facebook app from the phone. My picture was updated to the golfing pens logo, so that has to be summer.

Anyone see that image of the coins on the grave marker saying it's how people in the military are honored? Nice story but the person on the marker was a lady who died in 1855 and are we to believe almost two dozen people who served with her when she died are leaving quarters still today? The last WWI veteran dies a few years back, these would be even pre-civil war veterans.

Plus, people leave coins on all kinds of graves and have been doing it for centuries.DelPen wrote:Anyone see that image of the coins on the grave marker saying it's how people in the military are honored? Re: Odd Things You Read on Your Facebook Wall Thread
On the subj of people living their breakups out on Facebook, there's a woman on mine (daily posts were nonstop Family, Husband and God and how awesome her life is) all the sudden started posting this depressing s*** and stuff about her sadness and being alone blah blah. Then later on all this spiteful angry stuff and guys who are "real men" and how she's an independent woman that doesn't need man who blah blah and she's moving on cuz she deserves better, just really trashing her husband. Then in the weeks following tagging another guy in pics and check ins, and even a profile photo change of her and a new dude. Now she's reporting some of her wedding photos and tagging her husband in statuses when they're just laying on the couch watching a movie. And reposring all these pics of their kids just so she can tag him in te photo.
This all played out over the course of maybe 6-8 weeks. And I get people separate and work things out and reunite, but you just look like a dink when you play it out on Facebook like that. Especially when the couple is in their 30s with 3 kids

I would assume he ignored her immediately upon the relationship ended like I have always done and didn't see or care about any of this.

Am I to assume that if I see a name listed as "Jane Doe (Jane Doe)", that person is divorced?

Re: Odd Things You Read on Your Facebook Wall Thread
I have a Facebook friend/coworker who is fond of posting nonsense that's supposed to be 'motivational' or 'inspirational'.
A sample:
"Surrounded by inspiration and beauty every night!" - caption to pic of her and her Crossfit gym rat friends (She's been xfitting for over a year and still looks like a 'before' picture)
"If you allow people to make more withdrawals in ur life, You will be out of balance and in the negative!" [sic]
"Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions." (She's a career admin coordinator; nothing wrong with that, of course, but if that's you, you don't get to prattle on about your 'ambitions' being stifled.)
"And just like that .. I had an amazing bday (month)." ('Birthday month'?! For a 32-year old?)
I feel bad chastising her, but she's the type that talks smarter than she is. She goes on and on and on about being a Steelers fan, and always rocks the b&g and goes to at least one game a year..... and her last status update was "Two weeks till Pittsburg .. Am I there yet?" [sic, again]
Sometimes I just don't have the strength... and when I do, I passive-aggressively tease her.

There is a cult mentality with these gyms that spills over into social media. Not to say they haven't helped some people, but man, it's crazytifosi77 wrote:(She's been xfitting for over a year and still looks like a 'before' picture).

Re: Odd Things You Read on Your Facebook Wall Thread
Forgive me if I'm somewhat suspicious of thisI normally don't post stuff like this, but I felt like this needed to be shared. I went to a Valero gas station to get some gas for my car, and a man who works there starts cleaning the windows on my car. I said to him, "I didn't know they still did that." He replied and said, "Yeah, just trying to do whatever I can to make money for my two kids." After I filled up and he started walking away, strangely, my heart went out to him. I caught him and gave him a very generous tip, and he was very greatful. Next thing you know, we just started **** about this and that, and found out an incredible fact about this man. He got into a bad accident, and some of his intestines was out of place, and had sugery on his leg and arms, and yet was still working so he can support his kids as well as his wife, who I met there as well. Very nice and remarkable people, and I fell privelaged to have met them, and the shame in this day and age, these are the kind of people that get trampled over while the ******* get all the glory. In the end, just doing a kind, simple act not only benefits the person you do it to, but for you in a very special, loving and profound way. God bless.

If the first response was "you've been had" that would be something worth liking.

I would be more suspicious if she gave the tip after hearing the story and meeting the family.

Just because they didnt give the whole story before the tip doesnt mean he didnt bait it. The further explanation o the story is just setting up future tips.

In jersey, you aren't allowed to tip at gas stations. So I get really confused when they start washing my windows.pensfan1989 wrote:The window washing at a gas station is a classic scam type thing

Getting gas in Jersey drives me bonkers. I get heart palpitations sitting there in my car waiting for the attendant to casually work his way around to my car. Everything is delayed.shmenguin wrote:In jersey, you aren't allowed to tip at gas stations. It's not that bad in local gas stations, but the only ones I would ever have the occasion to stop at are on the Jersey Turnpike. Total Charlie Foxtrot at every rest area.

I love getting gas in Jersey because it's so much cheaper than PA, plus my hands don't smell like gas afterward.

I'm a big fan of not pumping my own gas. There's never a wait at my local stations.
