And that truck race finish was wild. They couldn't finish a lap without wrecking.

Re: LGP NASCAR Thread
Nothing was really spoiled. Actually, I never opened the thread so when they took the white flag without a wreck I assumed she wrecked in practice or something. Missed the second duel. Nice to see Denny run up front even if it's because he skipped a pit and no one was racing. I have work, but I really want to watch this nationwide race.relantel wrote:sorry for spoiling it for you, Hammer.TheHammer24 wrote:I'm watching both duels tonight and it's killing me that people have posted in this thread and there's a Danica Patrick thread on the front page. I decided to DVR it and watch it before the 500 tomorrow. That is quite disappointing. I thought it was clear that the tandem was done when the pack ran down Ambrose-Hamlin on Thursday.

Worth noting NW and Cup cars have different aero packages...

Re: LGP NASCAR Thread
Is it worth watching, Rel? I saw that Danica crashed twice. I do know there are different aero packages, and I would be shocked if we get tandems after what we saw in Duels/Shootout. But coming into speedweeks, Harvick and the other RCR engineers were saying there's no way we don't get tandems, so it's worth keeping in mind.
I also really want Danica to do well. It's stacked against her. Guys like Hornish dominated Indy and have struggled mightily in stock car racing. However, I grow tired of the sexist complaints against her, and frankly, her doing well is good for the sport. Unlike Jr. success that gets the existing fan base more excited, Danica's mainstream appeal would definitely attract some non-fans to tune in on Saturday/Sunday.

Re: LGP NASCAR Thread
NASCAR still doesn't have the finish order posted. It's a broken link.
Hammer, I guess it is worth watching, but both last night in the trucks and now today, they couldn't find a way to not crash at the end. ESPN2 reairs the NW race after midnight tonight if you didn't DVR it as it aired. I missed major portions of it in favor of the Pens game, so can't be a good judge as to how the whole race was.

I watched the first half of the race from Danica's incar on NASCAR.com and I thought everyone was driving **** crazy. There were a few wrecks and good saves.. but the last 30 laps was just absolute chaos.

UGH... I hate when it rains, especially for the 500. Looking at the radar, I think Mike Helton is being overly optimistic about their chances for racing anytime soon

Raining is so annoying. Ugh. It looks like hell there, and the officials relentlessly say "we're optimistic, yadi yadi yadi."
The NW race was boring. I hate when they wreck.

is this real? I mean there has to be a way to cover tracks; I just hope they honestly look into this regularly.
Twitter:
Dado: Dear @odsteve; I build running tracks. I can build an effective track cover. It is cost effective if you consider not having to move a race.
Steve Helton: @DadoHod shoot me dm and we'll talk next week.

Danica also is super awkward when she tries to make a joke in an interview.

The radar looks awful , and they just changed the forecast to an 80% chance of rain tomorrow. Welcome to a Tuesday Daytona 500...LAME

That sucks big time. Why so much rain recently? There has to be a way to tarp track although it would have made a difference today.

being off for trade deadline day and having Daytona going simultaneously would be kinda cool.

Tuesday if they can't get it in Monday according to a tweet from NASCAR VP Steve O'Donnell.
Another reporter suggested this would be one of the costliest postponements in NASCAR history, given the sports falling out of favor with casual fans and the general financial issues so many teams are having.

Someone suggested moving it to Easter Weekend. Not a terrible idea, but I would hate that. Monday races SUCK! Tuesday races are worse. The worst of it is that it looks like tomorrow we'll just deal with more uncertainty.shafnutz05 wrote:The radar looks awful , and they just changed the forecast to an 80% chance of rain tomorrow. Re: LGP NASCAR Thread
Thought I heard that rain is supposed to stop by 8. I just figured it was out of the picture, but a quick stop at the weather channel's page shows 50% chance of rain tomorrow throughout the day until midnight, dropping to 40% in the evening.TheHammer24 wrote:Tuesday if they can't get it in Monday according to a tweet from NASCAR VP Steve O'Donnell.

So yes, a Tuesday race would suck.
