LGP NASCAR Thread
I am assuming I am not the only person on this board that enjoys NASCAR/stock car racing, so figured I would make this thread (in before redneck jokes). The Bud Shootout leading in to the Daytona 500 is probably my favorite week of the entire season, so looking forward to the race.

woot!
This is the year Jr wins - hell, the Pens have won the Stanley Cup, and the Steelers won and lost a Super Bowl, since Jr. won a cup race!

haha...nice response, except Juice. (umad?)
I am a Jr. fan as well, the last couple years have been trying to say the least. You are right rel, a great elixir to soothe the still-lingering pains of losing the SB.

Yeah - it helped the 08 SCF loss, that Jr won within two week's time. Then the 08 Steeler season, combined with the 09 Cup run...shafnutz05 wrote:haha...nice response, except Juice. (umad?)

I went to my first race at Pocono in 2001 (horrible track). Have made a couple trips to Dover and went to Loudon, NH one year.

Can only claim to have been to Cup races at Dover (4x) and Richmond (3x). Do have Old Dominion Speedway (weekly series) right here though, much much cheaper.

Re: LGP NASCAR Thread
Ah I forgot Richmond. When I was living in Gaithersburg, had tickets to the Saturday night race. We drive down, tailgate, and just as the engines start, the rain begins. Had to drive the whole way back to Gaithersburg (3 hours), and we decided to drive back down the next day to watch the race.
My wife and I's last Dover experience was the worst. Her favorite driver is Stewart...on the 2nd lap of the race, they are involved in a wreck and both are taken out. That's the worst.

Been to Bristol night race twice, the coke 600, and the Daytona 500! Never was a fan until I went to my first race in the summer of 01' Then I got hooked.
Was a Jeff Gordon fan origionally untill this guy came along in 02' because I was ragged on by my friends saying you like Gordon because your brother does. So I decided to change my favorite driver looks like I chose right!

Haters gon hate!

As a Johnson fan I actually agree but rules are rules. Johnson seems to have the chase system down pat. Have enough points to get in to the top 10 with 10 to go. Then be great at those 10 tracks.

Yes it was we flew down there just before the snow storm started. By the time we flew back most of the snow had already melted.
Big wreck!

I work with a vegetarian NASCAR fan, who doesn't like wrecks. Is that unusual?
