Mitch Moreland and Scott Sizemore will be released from my farm team.
Do we get another resign after the 2012 season or after the 2013 season?

Jeremy Hellickson and Jordan Walden will be losing eligibility and are both being re-signed.
I'm releasing Ryan Westmoreland.
I traded away one prospect last year so that leaves my farm team at 16 players.

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
I did not make decisions yesterday, i'm working on it now. I can have it by 10:30 or so. If there is still a significant number of people that haven't done it yet though, I'd like to wait till I get home so I can check my actual cap sheet. I can only account for 19 of my rookies right now.

Cool that's what I thought.
I have 17 MLB players under contract then so I only need 9 people in the draft (5 MLB, 4 prospects).

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
I honestly cannot remember this. Did we discuss offseason buyouts at all? In my contract years hockey league, during the offseason before the draft we are permitted to buyout contracts and it works by reducing the total number of years available.
I want to buy out Gordon Beckham. He has 3 years left on his deal. In our hockey league, I could do this by any of the following:
Buy him out, cap reduced to 47 in 2012.
Buy him out, cap reduced to 48 in 2012, 49 in 2013.
Buy him out, cap reduced to 49 in 2012, 49 in 2013, 49 in 2014.
Basically, we are permitted to spread the years on the contract being bought out over as many years as possible, provided that you must take at least one hit per year.
This is done as an alternative to waiting until the season and using some of your free buyout years to accomplish the same thing.
Did we discuss this?

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
I am debating about whether to acquire a re-sign and sign Curtis Granderson or trade his rights. So, the rights to Granderson are available if anyone is interested in using their re-sign on him.
I am not really dead set on anything specific that I would be look for. SS is the position I'd most like to add at, I guess, but really up to discuss anything.

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
You can use your buyout years until the draft. We we're given 15 per year, so your pretty much able to buyout anyone you want at this point because there was very little activity during the regular season of cutting and signing guys.
We should consider dropping that to 10 buyout years.

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
I agree on the buyout years being dropped. I have no fear of using them during the year at this point because there is no way i'm going to come close to using them all.

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
Okay. I think we actually used 12 last year.
That makes sense to extend it into the off-season, good point.
I will check the Yahoo! thread to see how many I had left.

Luke Gregerson (MLB-1)

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
Also, I am good with dropping it to 10 this year.
Also, I'd like to trade Beckham to someone with buyout years remaining. Prospect + Beckham for Prospect or something like that. Slightest of edges to the person taking on the contract for purposes of buying it out.

I fixed Troy's roster to reflect his buyout of Stewart and Morneau. I hadn't realized what he meant when he said he wanted to buy them out.

I'd listen to an offer for that, I have at least 3 buyout years left to buy him out.

Re: LGP Fantasy Baseball League - Year 3
We should just discuss it in the context of a re-sign swap also.
It would be nice to add a shortstop. You have a few with Sano, Salcedo, and Franklin. Michael Choice + Gordon Beckham + 2013 re-sign for Nick Franklin + 2011 re-sign?
