I don't love Dixon but I think that's about right. I'd take him over a few above him

Pitt really needs another big. Having to double to compensate for Nwanko on Okafor and then he's passing out into open looks. And ugh, Dixon still has no idea against a zone.

James Robinson sucks. I'd rather see Newkirk get most of the minutes at PG. He might not be Dixon's preferred kind of PG, but he at least provides some scoring ability.

Pitt's at least going to rack up a moral victory here.

This was the cover for today's program:

Which is awesome, but unfortunately Dick isn't there because he fell and is in the hospital with a concussion. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

That "Coach K Court" thing is really obnoxious.

Just wait until Pitt names its court after Dixon.

Actually encouraged by the second half. If Duke didn't shoot lights out, this would have been interesting. Pitt's just missing that go-to guy. Hopefully Newkirk, Young and Artis can turn into a pretty deadly trio over the next 2.5 years

Something that always bugged me about the Pete.. Why not configure it so the camera is facing the zoo, and not on the same side? It's such a great place but looks kinda bland looking at those suites.

Re: 2014-15 Pitt Basketball Thread
Started watching, and apparently that coincided with Pitt deciding to go back to being anemic offensively.

Pitt might want to just stop basketballing this year.

Indeed. Solid over coaching by Dixon last night. At least Artis has emerged as a solid go-to scorer over the past five games.newarenanow wrote:Pitt stinks.

Thats a big win for Pitt...definitely something that can work for them if they end up a bubble team.

I often forget they are even playing... it's less painful that way. If they win... yay. If they endure a soul crushing loss, I had no emotional investment.

Re: 2014-15 Pitt Basketball Thread
Pitt gave up more than 70 points and still won. Maybe Dixon has finally realized you're allowed to just outscore teams. Jeter has the potential to be a stud scorer and should have been averaging more than 11 minutes per game. Big win today. At Virginia, Syracuse, Wake, and FSU. Home against BC and Miami. Currently sitting at 18-9. This team still has a shot at the tournament.

Yeah but to be honest I have a feeling that come tourney time this won't be looked at as such a big win. UNC doesn't impress me all that much, I see them dropping a few more.canaan wrote:Thats a big win for Pitt...definitely something that can work for them if they end up a bubble team.

Also if you would have told me in January that UNC would come to the Pete and put up 70+ I would have guessed it would be the largest home loss in the history of the Pete
