Going to dinner at Gibson's one night is all I have planned so far.
+1 for the Chicago Architecture tour. for food, Portillo's for Chicago Dogs and Italian Beefs, Lou Malnati's for deep dish. for a really nice dinner I recommend the Gage on Michigan Ave. http://www.thegagechicago.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

oh, and don't stand on the skydeck at the Willis Tower. :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

Ohio itself wouldnt be too bad, but on the way east it was the last state between the rockies and WV, with 1500 miles of nothing in between.

I actually had to think hard about what "West of Jersey" meant. I've never heard that term before.

Has anyone stayed at the MGM Grand in Vegas? Is it worthwhile?

I can get rooms ridiculously cheap for the first week of Sept, but don't want to stay there if it isn't worth it.

The MGM is one of the only worthwhile places to stay IMO. Its in the middle of everything, and isnt a dump like a lot of other ones.

I stayed at the Cosmopolitan in March. It is incredible. It is also expensive. We stayed for free thanks to my friend's husband and his Marriott points. I would love to stay there again, but it's too much.

I am planning a Florida beach vacation in September. I've stayed on Siesta Key several times and I'm leaning to that again just because I'm familiar with it and with the rental agency. Does anyone have any other recommendations in the area, such as Longboat Key, St Pete, Lido, etc? I haven't found another rental website I like as much as siesta4rent.com

Also, most of the places I'm looking at are a block or so away from the beach and are going for $450-550 for the week. Would it be worth it to spend a few hundred more dollars for a gulffront place? I've never had a balcony like that. Seems like it would be really nice, I'm just not sure its worth it.

NAN was taking inventory on his collectibles one day on here. One of the things was those football buddy doll things, kind of like couch cushions with fooball players drawn on them if i remember correctly, I vaguely remember those things as a kid...but i'm not sure what they're exactly called.

Don't know if this is too late, but I'd recommend The Purple Pig for dinner.

Just noticed that somehow, I must've typed my middle name for my sister when I was booking our trip. her middle name is Ann but I somehow put Alan, probably out of habit. What are the chances the airlines make a big deal out of this? I'm not even sure who to call - the airline or the travel site.

No big deal. Just a full body cavity search and a brief interrogation by Homeland Security.

I made it through an international flight once with an expired ID. I think it depends on who checks your creds.
