A quick check of wikipedia shows Wawa dairy farm opened in 1890.
Also they opened their stores when customers were beginning to shift away from dairy home delivery.

Re: The Travel Thread
why would they have on their coffee cup that customers have been enjoying their product for over 100 years if they've only been selling coffee for 50? makes no sense. Wawa is still stupid.

If you are there on a Saturday morning, go to the Ferry Building farmers Market and get a porchetta sandwich from Roli Roti - no joke, it is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life.
Also in the Ferry Building proper is Boccalone (tasty salted pig parts) and Hog Island Oysters.
Also really enjoyed the California Academy of Sciences (and the Steinhart Aquarium) and the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italy) are excellent; C-town is amazeballs, and North Beach is cool because most Italian immigrants on the east coast tend to be from southern Italy or Sicily, while the immigrants in northern California are predominantly from northern Italy.
If you're going to be there for a while, I'd also definitely recommend a trip out to wine country, if that sort of thing floats ye boat.

The claim is that their customers "have been enjoying our fresh products". Not "our fresh coffee".count2infinity wrote:why would they have on their coffee cup that customers have been enjoying their product for over 100 years if they've only been selling coffee for 50? makes no sense. flying out of Pittsburgh on a Wednesday at 7am. What time should I get to the airport by? Is 5:45 enough or do the security lines back up for weekday business travelers that early?

Re: The Travel Thread
I'd get there earlier just because I like to be early, but I think 5:45 should be good enough. The main security line can get backed up, but that's usually because people are too stupid to go to the alternative checkpoint upstairs. About a month ago my wife was taking a trip home to visit family. The security line downstairs was about 30-40 minutes. She went upstairs instead and was the only person in line.pittsoccer33 wrote:flying out of Pittsburgh on a Wednesday at 7am. What time should I get to the airport by? I discovered that line lolligagging one morning on my way to the airport. I think the flight was 7:50 or so, and I didn't leave my place in the city until about 6:30. Jet Blue sent me that way.

I didn't know about this additional line. I guess I don't fly enough. Where is it?Dickie Dunn wrote:

Look to your right just before the escalators going down to the main security area. IMO, you really only need to use this if the main security area is backed up. Lately, for me anyway, the alternate checkpoint has been fairly busy.

Re: The Travel Thread
If you're parking at the airport, take the escalators up to the ticketing level, immediately turn left, go outside (where people get dropped off), and there will be a covered, slightly ominous looking walkway on the other side of the road that will take you to the alternate checkpoint. It's only open at specific, high traffic times, but when it is open there will be signs with arrows pointing you in the proper direction.llipgh2 wrote:I didn't know about this additional line. Re: The Travel Thread
You walk down what seems to be a plywood hallway, it goes across the main thruway and basically you end up on the opposite side of the terminal. You go right downstairs then and catch the tram.llipgh2 wrote:I didn't know about this additional line. I guess I don't fly enough. Where is it?Dickie Dunn wrote:
