Do hockey and hell belong in the same sentence?Pens163 wrote:well its hockey hell for more than one reasoneastonpensfan wrote:How can one team, even if it is the ECHL, be affiliated with the Flyers AND the Penguins?
I suppose they would have been affiliated with Yoda AND the Emperor, too?!?
Any hockey, even involving the Flyers, is better than no hockey.
i guess you might have a point.. but what about the devils... don't they live in hell?eastonpensfan wrote:Do hockey and hell belong in the same sentence?Pens163 wrote:well its hockey hell for more than one reasoneastonpensfan wrote:How can one team, even if it is the ECHL, be affiliated with the Flyers AND the Penguins?

No biggie!
This is even more restricted than the WB-Oilers arrangement last year.
Cryers can only have MAX-2 goalies and 3 positional players on Nailers at the same time.
This just shows that Pens have a more long term view of developing prospects than Cryers do. They cut expenses by sharing, and the Nailers are probably more competitive than they would be solely with the Pens.

The Pens don't normally have that many prospects at that level either.gruntov wrote:No biggie!

No doubt, but I'd still rather have control, than rely on the Cryers, if the roles were reversed.pfim wrote:The Pens don't normally have that many prospects at that level either.gruntov wrote:No biggie!

I remember in the past, when the Pens shared farm teams with the incumbent, and got the short end of the stick in playing time.

Curry is already going down there. I doubt that the Cryers have that many goalie prospects that they would have 2 spare to put in Wheeling.Jim wrote:Does that mean we won't have any goalies there?gruntov wrote:Cryers can only have MAX-2 goalies and 3 positional players on Nailers at the same time.

Dany Sabourin
Ty Conklin
David Brown
John Curry
Pat Ehelechner
Chad Johnson
Jeff Deslauriers
Devan Dubnyk
Andrew Penner
Andy Franck
That's a lot of guys for 6 spots... and not two of those spots might be taken by another team...

Franck is ECHL filler (I don't even think he is Pens' property). Penner wasn't qualified. Deslauriers and Dubnyk are Oilers prospects, there's no Oilers to WBS agreement this seasons. Chad Johnson is going into his junior season in college. Really, only the top 5 of your list are likely to be playing in the Pens organization this fall.Marc Fleury

I wondered who the Double-D's were, lol. I thought we kept Penner and Franck played a big part in Wheeling last year so I figured he might stay on. I also figure Ehelechner will stay in Germany if he doesn't crack the line-up.pfim wrote:Franck is ECHL filler (I don't even think he is Pens' property). Penner wasn't qualified. Pat Ehelechner - AHL/DEL
Either Sabourin or Conklin will back up MAF, the other will go to WBS. One of Brown or Curry will play in WBS and the other would have to go to Wheeling. UNLESS Ehelechner stays in the AHL pushing both Brown and Curry to the ECHL.

“This is truly an exciting announcement for us to make.â€￾ Said Nailers President Jim Brooks “We have always had two main goals in our hockey operations; to win games on the ice and to help our players reach their goals of moving up and someday playing in the NHL."

How in God's name could you get any better playing for the Flyers. MAybe you can get connected to some sort of gang but other than that you're basically wasting your time!
