59 days until the next Wilkes-Barre Penguin hockey game. That's about 60 days too long!

Anyway, Pens163, what is your thought about Halvern?

What type of player is he? Is he good enough to be as productive as Jensen, Wallace, McLean, etc. have been in their roles as late-season callups?

I wasn't really around (in the minor leagues) last year so I can't say. But from what I have read it seems that if he is given the cahnce he can do really well. He has played with 3 AHL clubs already, and did ok, but he wasn't there for long. He played only 37 games for the Nailers last year and was able to be forth on the team roster for goals. He had numerous awards in both high school and college hockey.

I did notice that he only played 40 some games total last year. Was he hurt or something? Anyone know?

Something had to have happened at the begining of the season (but i am not sure what). On the providence web-site it says that he was called up on 1/20/07 and at that time he had only played 16 games for the Nailers.

he hurt his wrist at the beginning of the season, but came back at the end of December. In his first game back against Cincinnati he scored the GWG with under 10 seconds left. IMO he is a very good ECHL Player, but im not sure about the AHL.
