How is David Brown at playing the puck?

Post by DelPen »

Clearly Conklin's ability to play the puck is helping the Penguins a lot and is making the job of defense much easier. So how is brown at playing the puck? With having two superstars on offense the defense will be filled with Letang and Whitney and then guys who don;t make too much so having a goalie who can play the pouck is vital to this team.

Would Brown be ready to be in the NHL after next season and a starter a season after that? I would entertain the idea of moving Fleury now for a better defenseman or wing and go with Conklin and Sabu next year then Conklin and Brown after that.

Honestly, Brown doesn't seem to play the puck all that much. Definitely not even close to the level that Conklin does. Considering that Curry is outplaying Brown right now, I don't think Brown is the one to depend on at the moment.

Okay, next question:

How is Curry at playing the puck?

Curry doesn't play the puck much either.

These seem to be the differences between the two:
- Curry is slightly better at his lateral movement
- Curry is better at rebound control
- Brown is better at positioning

That slight edge is why Curry is outplaying Brown right now. Brown looks like his timing is slightly off but he is improving.

WBS has a good defense, so it is an easy place to learn how to play goal.

Yes, I'm a season ticket holder there.

I usually post weekly updates on www.faceoff-factor.com about it. This week's was delayed due to an unexpected business trip to Maryland.
