WBS C Nathan Smith arrested

Post by eastonpensfan »

He wanted to act out his favorite scene from "Old School" apparently:

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins captain Nathan Smith was charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, open lewdness and indecent exposure for his role in a streaking incident early Sunday morning, according to Scranton police.

According to police documents, Smith said he was acting on a bet when he ran naked into the street on the 100 block of Adams Avenue at 2:29 a.m.

I'm sure it will be more Fletcher than Shero handling this - that's his department.

Smith is a group VI UFA after the year. I think this will mean the team will separate from him in the offseason.

Interesting side note with all of this... Ryan Stone was also there and hammered. When the police asked everyone to leave, he didn't. So, he was arrested for the 2nd time this year for drunk & disorderly.

To give you guys an idea, after Stone's first D&D arrest, they sat him for 2 games. Obviously Smith's arrest is more of a black eye on the organization than a regular D&D. But, between him and now Stone being a repeat offender, it will make for an interesting decision, especially at playoff time.
