My humble opinion:

1. Goligoski (if we're considering him a prospect still)
2. Tangradi
3. Caputi
4. Jeffrey
5. Pierro-Zabotel
6. Grant
7. Curry
8. Lovejoy
9. Strait
10. Moon

If we're not including Gogo, shift everybody up and throw Vitale in there. I'm hoping for good things from him.

I didn't know Crowder was much of a prospect...I assumed the organIzation wasn't planning on signing him

honestly, it might come down to having to bring up some D prospects along pretty quickly. Doubtful Pens will have luxury of spending more than entry level deals. So maybe Lovejoy & Gogo are in PIT next year. that scares me a bit.

Fortunately Letang, Gonchar, Orpik and Eaton can log a tone of minutes. Gogo though has gotten better all year and will be fine next year and Lovejoy could be the next Scuderi which is all you need for a #6.

But if those are our 6 guys, expect some talent on the wings for Malkin. We would be way under the cap when you take away Boucher and Gill and then upgrade Guerin (maybe), Sykora and Fedotenko.

Gogo is still struggling with playing defense here in WBS.

He's also turned extremely tentative on the power play, still turns away form any contact, and as I said, can be mistaken for a traffic cone at times. I thought he'd dominate down here from whatever he learned in Pittsburgh while he was up for a good part of the year, but IMHO he's regressed.

If he's up there next year (Isn't he an RFA this year? IF so, maybe they take the picks and wash their hands if he gets a serious offer sheet), they might as well assign him #19 and make him change his name to Ryan, because he's got whipping boy written all over him unless he makes a serious turnaround.

I'll qualify my post by saying that I really, truly hope I'm wrong.

I won't count Goligoski because he's surpassed rookie status and almost certainly graduate to the NHL next season. I'll still count Curry because he will still be considered a rookie next year. I put more importance on upside than some, which probably is why I think more highly of Veilleux than others. Take my rankings with a grain of salt because my exposure to most of these guys has been very limited.

1) Tangradi
2) Caputi
3) Veilleux
4) Pierro-Zabotel
5) Sneep
6) Strait
7) Grant
8) Moon
9) Curry
10) Bortuzzo

The Pens should be able to add at least a couple more top ten prospects in this upcoming draft.

Unfortunately, I think you are quite correct.
I'm actually shocked when folks toss out a figure like $2M for GoGo.

We should get Gogo at a pretty decent price, however, it will be because he'll take a lower tag in exchange for a one way deal.

Kicksave makes a strong point, although I don't know that they'll do it. Honestly, from what I've seen of him since he came down, as I said in another post, he seems to have regressed. He's still terrible defensively, and he's tentative to shoot the puck now.

I guess it depends what shakes out with Scuderi and Gill, it might behoove them to have him on a two-way with the ability to go down without clearing waivers still,if we're looking at Sarge/Orpik, Letang/Eaton, Scuderi/Gill again. I don't see them resigining both Scuds and Gill though, so if he's going to be top 6, I guess it works.

Although you need to shuffle up the pairings maybe to cover for his inadequacies unless he vastly improves his D this offseason. You don't want to resign Scuds OR Gill and have one of them trying to get back and defend odd-man rushes all season either, neither of them are built for it.

If we go out and sign a FA D to replace one or both of Scuds/Gill, IMO Lovejoy fits better as a 7th D, being that he.. you know.. plays defense. He's REALLY improved his puck handling starting in the playoffs last year and that's carried over to this year, where he's been showing improvement at that all year as well.
