Where are my Gun Owners?
I'm looking into buying a new handgun for home defense/ concealed carry. I don't have a ton of money to spend, so I've been looking at a Taurus TCP .380. Gets consistently good reviews and looks pretty compact, but I'd like to do some research before I get into anything. Any ideas on what I should be looking at?

i really suggest a glock for concealed carry but again its all in the money you want to spend.

I should have clarified...I'm poor. I'm not going to get something unreliable for the sake of price, but I'd like to go as inexpensive as possible while still getting something useable. I'd love a glock but they're likely outside my price range.

Pfrogner's Firearms (and auto body).. i know.. weird combo. he has a website. i've never dealt with him, but my college roommate swears by him and has got multiple guns from him
edit - he's in California, PA, so not too far from South Hills.

I have a kel-tec pf-9 it's small and narrow, you could pocket conceal if you wanted to, but it's comfortable with an IWB holster.
It's a 9mm with a 7+1 mag capacity. Not the prettiest, but a hard chrome finished one would cost you about $300

This thread may help if you are considering other weapons besides a handgun for home defence.

Re: Where are my Gun Owners? (CCW related)
I've actually got a shotgun and am convinced that in the dark, when you're still half asleep, it's the best home defense weapon. However, I still have to have the title transferred from my dad's name to my own; I'm technically not the owner of the gun so it's use for anything other than hunting would raise some sticky legal issues.Psychlone wrote:This thread may help if you are considering other weapons besides a handgun for home defence.

The shotgun is a good choice for home defense.
But if you're looking for a quality but inexpensive pistol for CCW, I'd also suggest a Ruger P-series. They're only about $450 new, and if you take proper care for it the thing will work like clockwork. My uncle as a P85 9mm that he bought in 1990 or 1991 that's still smooth as butter.
